Through his mesmerising sand art, Pattnaik spread message that every vote counts and on his sand art he also highlighted 'My Vote Matters.' He also shared a hashtag of '#Govote.' Polling will be held today for the fourth phase of Lok Sabha election in 71 parliamentary constituencies spread across nine states. Voting will be held for 17 Parliamentary seats in Maharashtra; 13 each in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh; eight in West Bengal; six each in Madhya Pradesh and Odisha; five in Bihar; and three in Jharkhand in this phase. Elaborate arrangements are in place for the smooth conduct of the 4th phase of General Election.
Kamjong (Manipur), Apr 29 (ANI): Around two boats were capsized, trees were uprooted, and houses were damaged in Manipur's Kamjong district after thunderstorm hit the area on Sunday. New Delhi, Apr 28 (ANI): High levels of Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs), a group of environmental pollutants, in the blood can lead to premature deaths, according to a study. The study was published in the journal, 'JAMA Network Open'. The PCBs are subject to restrictions in several countries and the bans have reduced their concentrations in the environment. In the study, 'Prospective Investigation of the Vasculature in Uppsala Seniors' (PIVUS) over 1,000 randomly selected, 70-year-olds were monitored over a long period. PCBs have the tendency to decompose very slowly and are stored in the fatty tissue, they remain present in animals and humans. In particular, PCBs with many chlorine atoms in the molecule persist in most Swedes' blood. Study relating to PCBs in blood, concentrations were measured in the subjects' blood in 2001-2004, and then again when they reached the age of 75.Follow-up of those who had died over a 10-year period showed that the individuals with the highest PCB leve

Srinagar( J-K), Apr 28 (ANI): After remaining closed for around five months, Srinagar-Leh National Highway-1 is reopened now. Srinagar-Leh NH-1 connects Kashmir Valley with Ladakh region. The road was closed since December last year following heavy snowfall. The highway authorities took around five months to clear the entire 434 km stretch of snow. People in Leh, Kargil, Drass and other parts of the region have faced acute shortage of essentials, particularly vegetables and medicines.

Nalasopara (Maharashtra), Apr 28 (ANI): A 43-year-old Jet Airways employee, who was suffering from cancer, committed suicide by jumping off his building in Maharashtra's Nalasopara. Speaking on the incident, Avinash Rai, one of the neighbours, told ANI that Shailesh Singh was suffering from cancer and due to the deteriorating finances of the now grounded airline; Singh was struggling with the finances at his own house. He was however a very social person and used to participate in every festival, Rai added. Jet Airways announced earlier this month that it is temporarily suspending its flight operations.
