New Delhi, Apr 23 (ANI): Congress expressed regret over Supreme Court's notice to party's president Rahul Gandhi's remark. National Spokesperson of Congress, Abhishek Singhvi said, "It was never our objective that any court will adopt, accept or give judgments over a political campaign. It was never our intent. Since this campaign and words 'chowkidar chor hai' got juxtaposed with the order of court, we are sorry for that."

Priyanka Gandhi meets injured party worker in Raebareli

Raebareli (UP), Apr 23 (ANI): Congress general secretary from Uttar Pradesh (East) Priyanka Gandhi met injured party worker Virendra Singh at a hospital in UP's Raebareli. While talking to reporters about the possibility of her contesting election from Varanasi seat, Priyanka Gandhi said, "Party has not taken any decision yet. What party will say, I will do it". Ex-Assam DGP complaints of EVM malfunctioning in Guwahati

Guwahati (Assam), Apr 23 (ANI): Former Director General of Police (DGP) of Assam Harekrishna Deka on Tuesday has raised allegation of malfunctioning of Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) in Guwahati during the third phase of polling. According to the former DGP, "When I went to vote at the polling station in Lachit Nagar, the EVM didn't register my vote once I pressed the button somebody else name came, then I challenged it." Deka reached to the polling official to complaint against EVM malfunctioning. The polling official told him to pay Rs 2 to check the EVM machine and informed him that in case of false complaint six months jail. "I don't want to take that risk," said Deka. BJP wants 'deaf and dumb' Dalit leaders: Udit Raj expresses disappointment over ticket snub

New Delhi, Apr 23 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and incumbent MP from North-West Delhi parliamentary constituency, Udit Raj, has expressed his disappointment over party's decision to replace his candidature with Punjabi singer Hans Raj Hans, and said that the ruling party wants "deaf and dumb" Dalit leaders but he is a Dalit leader who has a dedicated support of the community. Raj added that he did really good work as an MP and if the BJP can't acknowledge that then it means the party is leaving him and not the other way around.

Specially-abled voters cast their ballots against all odds

Pilibhit (UP), Apr 23 (ANI): Breaking down barriers through physical challenge, specially-abled persons came out from their houses and cast their votes in Uttar Pradesh's Pilibhit on Tuesday. They also encouraged people to come out from their houses and participate in the biggest festival of democracy. The administration also made efforts to ensure that every specially-abled persons, senior citizens, and pregnant women are able to cast their votes in a hassle-free manner. Phase 3 voting for 116 constituencies across 15 states and a union territory is underway.

LS polls: Kashmiri Pandits cast vote at special polling station in Jammu

Jammu, Apr 23 (ANI): As the voting for the third phase of Lok Sabha elections is underway, the Election Commission is making sure every legal voter casts his vote, and in that pursuit, it has set up a special polling station in Jammu for the Kashmiri Pandits. FM Jaitley cast his vote in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Apr 23 (ANI): Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Tuesday reached Gujarat's Ahmedabad to cast his vote. Following all the necessary procedures, Jaitley cast his vote and also allowed some youngsters to take selfie with him. Rahul Gandhi hits at PM Modi over loan waiver issue

Dungarpur (Rajasthan), Apr 23 (ANI): Ahead of Lok Sabha elections, Congress president Rahul Gandhi addressed a public rally in Rajasthan's Dungarpur on Tuesday. While addressing the rally, Gandhi said, "Narendra Modi said to all of you that he'll forgive all your debts. He said that he'll give you the right price, food processing factory. But you tell me, did he complete it? Have you got the right price? Who forgive all your debts? Congress party did forgive your debts. Here in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and in Chhattisgarh, elections are happening and I said whatever will happen, farmers' debts should be forgiven in these 3 states. Crude bomb hurled at TMC workers in Bengal, 3 injured

Murshidabad (WB), Apr 23 (ANI): Three Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers got injured after a bomb was hurled at them in West Bengal's Murshidabad on Tuesday. The bomb was hurled by unknown miscreants. The incident took place at Manik Nagar area of Domkal Municipality ward number seven. Injured TMC workers Tujam Ansari, Masadul Islam, Mallick Mondal were rushed to Murshidabad Medical College and Hospital for treatment. Police is investigating the matter. Voting is underway the third phase of the Lok Sabha elections today.
