BJP president Amit Shah reached the polling booth in Ahmedabad where PM Modi is due to cast his vote. People in Gujarat, Kerala, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Goa and Daman and Diu will vote for all parliamentary constituencies in phase 3. Parliamentary elections are underway in Uttar Pradesh, Tripura, Kerala, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Gujarat, West Bengal, Bihar, Assam, Goa, Jammu and Kashmir and Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. People will also vote for Gandhinagar parliamentary constituency being contested by BJP president Amit Shah. PM Modi will also cast his vote in Ahmedabad. Voter turnout for phase 1 was 69.45% and 69.43% for phase 2.
Rajkot (Gujarat), Apr 23 (ANI): A life-size statue of Prime Minister Narendra Modi outside Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) office in Gujarat's Rajkot has been attracting a lot of residents for clicking selfies. PM Modi has always been popular in the state as he served as chief minister from 2001 to 2014 before becoming Prime Minister. Almost-identical statue has been moulded by local craftsmen. It has been put on display as a matter of pride for BJP workers.

Kaza (HP), Apr 23 (ANI): People in Himachal Pradesh's Kaza district are facing several problems related to basic necessities ahead of Lok Sabha polls in the state. Three main issues they are facing are electricity, water and road connectivity. People of Kaza demand government to solve their problems as soon as possible. The hilly region has largely remained untouched by development. They also demand government to promote tourism sector in the district. While speaking to ANI, a local said, "We are facing lots of problem, we appeal to the government to solve our problems soon." Lok Sabha elections will be held for all four constituencies in Himachal Pradesh in the last phase on May 19.
New Delhi, Apr 23 (ANI): Google Lens, an app that uses image recognition to identify objects and provide relevant information, is reportedly getting a few new features.These features include various filters for Lens, including Translate, Dining and Shopping. The new features are aimed at reducing users' dependency on other apps as Google Lens attempts to become a one-stop solution for various search types.The Translate filter would allow Google Lens to translate foreign text into the designated language. The Shopping filter would allow it to identify clothing and furniture, while the Dining filter would likely allow users to point their smart phone camera at the real world to find restaurants highlighted in the viewfinder.

Gandacherra (Tripura), Apr 23 (ANI): Several tribal people in remote village of Tripura's Gandacherra are suffering from fever and they are unable to get proper medical care from doctor. No government official has yet paid heed to their sufferings. Locals are using traditional methods for treatment. They have decided to boycott Lok Sabha polls. "All families are suffering. No doctor or officer is coming here. We're going to market for medicines. Govt isn't paying attention," said a local.

He asserted that only BJP government can bring development to West Bengal. He said, "Is there any difference between the government of Trinamool Congress and government of Communist Party? Mangaluru (Karnataka), Apr 22 (ANI): It is common to witness strange rituals at religious places in India. But, hundreds of devotees in dhoti throwing fire-lit torches at each other to appease Goddess Durga is a ritual, which is a must watch. The festival is known as 'Agni Kheli.' The ritual 'Agni Kheli' 'Thoothedhara' takes place during the festival of the Kateel Durga Parameswari temple that is held in the month of April each year for about eight consecutive days. Hundreds of devotees gathered at the temple to carry out a centuries-old tradition that involves throwing and getting hit with burning palm fronds. The fiery action attracts thousands of spectators. To prevent serious burns, the men only wear pieces of cloth around their lower body, but they are often set ablaze during the fiery ritual. 'Agni Kheli' only lasts 15-20 minutes. The people who suffer burns are sprayed with water of Kumkumarchane. Kateel is a temple town located about 30 km away from Mangaluru city.
