Mumbai, Apr 15 (ANI): A scuffle broke out between Congress workers and BJP supporters during Congress candidate from Mumbai North, Urmila Matondkar's election campaign at Borivali today. Condemning the scuffle, Matondkar said, "We were doing a peaceful campaign with due permission, when 15-20 people came out of the crowd and started shouting slogans in support of BJP and PM Narendra Modi. In the beginning, I didn't pay attention to them thinking such things keep happening but the BJP supporters didn't stop and started performing obscene acts so that the women attending the campaign get scared and back off as a result of which my party workers had to go forward to tell them to stop whatever they were doing. It's being done to create fear. It's just beginning, it'll take violent turn. I have asked for police protection."
Fatehpur Sikri (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 15 (ANI): Amidst the Lok Sabha elections, while addressing a public rally in Uttar Pradesh's Fatehpur Sikri today, Congress leader Raj Babbar said, "It was our wish and desire and we have promised people here that we will start construction of temple as a huge pilgrimage here. Mumbai, Apr 15 (ANI): Hundreds of Jet Airways pilots gathered outside the airlines' headquarter at Siroya Centre in Mumbai today demanding their unpaid salaries. The pilots have not been receiving salaries for over three months now. Speaking on the issue, Senior Commander and Vice-President of Jet Airways' pilots body National Aviator's Guild, Asim Valiani said, "Pilots, engineers and managers haven't received salaries for the last 3 months, and salaries have been irregular for the last 7-8 months. Government had promised us through SBI that they will intervene, that they are serious about saving 20,000 jobs, and that Rs 1,500 crore will be given, but we haven't seen the money yet."

Srinagar (J and K), Apr15 (ANI): A young female Mountaineer from Kashmir, Nahida Manzoor, eyes on scaling world's highest peak Mount Everest. She resides in Zewan area of Srinagar. The 23-year-old is an art student and is in her final year. She is studying in Vishwa Bharati College Of Education. Nahida started hiking at the age of 10 as her house is surrounded by hills. Nahida is a trained mountaineer and have completed all the mountaineering courses. So far, she has scaled Mount Deo Tibba and Friendship Peak of Himachal Pradesh with. In Kashmir, she has scaled Mount Mahadev and Tatakooti Peak.

New Delhi, Apr 15 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Monday has issued a notice to Congress president Rahul Gandhi and has sought explanation from him on his allegedly contemptuous remark that the Apex Court had made adverse remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Rafale case. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national spokesperson and a lawyer Meenakashi Lekhi said, "The words used and attributed by him to SC in the Rafale case has been made to appear something else. He is replacing his personal statement as Supreme Court's order and trying to create prejudice". The Congress president has to file a reply in the Apex Court before April 22 and the court will hear the case on April 23.
Dima Hasao (Assam), Apr 15 (ANI): People residing in Semkhor village of Assam are facing acute water crisis even after 70 years of independence. To meet their needs, the residents of this village collect water that dips form the mountains in pits. Their sufferings do not end here: the locals have to travel over a kilometer to fetch water every day. The local further underscored that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government has constructed toilets but not provide water in them. While speaking to ANI, a resident of village said, "We have a big water problem. We have requested the government department but they did not do anything. We travel one kilometer to get clean water".
Gurugram (Haryana), Apr 15 (ANI): One died and five others have sustained injuries after a blast in a CNG car occurred which was parked in a firecracker godown on Sunday night in Kadipur industrial area. Subsequently, a fire broke out in the godown and was later fire doused by fire tenders. A case has been registered and further investigation is underway.

NCW has taken suo-motu cognizance and we're sending him notice. We are also writing to EC to take strict action against him because he has to learn this lesson now. It's high time, he has to stop this. Women are not sex objects. I think, women voters should vote against such kind of people who are treating women in such way."
Rampur (UP), Apr 15 (ANI): Reacting to SP leader Azam Khan's alleged objectionable remark against her, BJP candidate Jaya Prada on Monday said that this isn't anything new for her as its Khan's habit to make such derogatory remarks. She said, "It isn't new for me. You might remember that I was a candidate from his party in 2009 when no one supported me after he made comments against me. It's his habit to make such comments. I'm a woman and I can't even repeat what he said. He has crossed his limits. I don't know what I did to him that he is saying such things. Now that FIR has been filed against him, I want that he shouldn't be elected and he should be banned from fighting the elections." She further added, "If this man wins, what will happen to democracy? There'll be no place for women in society. Where will we go? Should I die, and then you'll be satisfied? You think that I'll get scared and leave Rampur? But I won't leave."
Prayagraj (UP), Apr 15 (ANI): A day after Samajwadi party leader Azam Khan allegedly made objectionable remarks against BJP candidate Jaya Prada, Uttar Pradesh minister Rita Bahuguna Joshi said that Khan should either be banned by the Election Commission or by the public. Joshi said, "If there is any such provision of banning, then EC must ban Azam Khan. The entire women community of the nation felt disgraceful with the comment made by Azam Khan. I think it is high time to stop him from making such statements and it is possible only if either EC should ban him or people should reject. He must tell to whom was he indicating his words if not to Jaya Prada. It is shameful for him to make such statement for any woman. Such leaders should not be in politics. It is surprising that his party chief has not taken any action against him."
Begusarai (Bihar), Apr 15 (ANI): Lack of basic amenities and unfulfilled promises by the government has forced electorates of Bihar's Thatha village to boycott the ongoing general elections. Surrounded by river Budhigandak on three sides, the village in Begusarai district has a single road which connects it to the rest of the state. However, none of the residents wish to travel by it as the condition of the road is dilapidated, thereby forcing them to travel by boat. Protesting the apathy, locals of the village have decided to stay away from voting. While speaking to ANI, a local resident said, "There is no medical facility in the village. The entire village would boycott polls unless they are provided with a bridge or a road. Pehle raasta, phir vote (First road, then vote)." Bihar goes to polls in seven phases. The counting of votes will take place on May 23.
