New Delhi, Mar 25 (ANI): A recent study has revealed that obesity may play a role in reproductive problems in women with type 1 diabetes. "Women with type 1 diabetes remain at risk of significant reproductive problems despite improvements in current therapies, and this may be partly explained by the high prevalence of obesity in this group," said lead researcher Eleanor Thong, M.B.B.S., Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation, Clayton, Australia. The researchers found 24 per cent of women with type 1 diabetes were obese, compared with 16 percent of those without diabetes. Another notable finding was that one in four women with type 1 diabetes was current smoker, compared to one in six controls. Menstrual irregularities were seen in 47 per cent of those with type 1 diabetes, compared with 35 per cent of those without the disease. Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) was found in 14 per cent of those with diabetes, compared with 5 per cent in those without the disease.

New Delhi, Mar 25 (ANI): Gorkha Janmukti Morcha (GJM) and Gorkha National Liberation Front (GNLF) on Sunday pledged their support to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for the Lok Sabha elections in Darjeeling. The decision was announced in a press conference in the national capital where GJM president Lopsang Lama and spokesperson of GNLF, Neeraj Zimba, were present.

Indore (MP), Mar 24 (ANI): While talking to the ANI, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya on West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee's nephew Abhishek Banerjee's wife said, "When custom officials stopped Abhishek Banerjee's wife at Kolkata airport, Vidhan Nagar Commissioner came to the airport, threatened the custom officials and entire luggage was taken without checking. We demand a CBI inquiry in this incident." Abhishek Banerjee has been named in a complaint filed by the customs department of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport.

Nashik (Maharashtra), Mar 24 (ANI): In a shocking incident, two minor girls were allegedly molested by school's assistant trainer in Maharashtra's Nashik. A minor girl complained about the incident. Parents gathered at school campus demanding immediate action against accused trainer. After registering the complaint, the accused has been taken into custody by the police. Akhnoor (Jammu and Kashmir), Mar 24 (ANI): In retaliation to unprovoked ceasefire violations, the Indian Army on Saturday destroyed a Pakistan Army post opposite the Akhnoor sector on the Line of Control (LoC) where the video evidence shows the Pakistani flag flying upside down as a signal of emergency or extreme distress. Indian Army action in Akhnoor sector came in retaliation to repeated ceasefire violations by Pakistan. In last one month after the Pulwama attack, India has been retaliating heavily to Pakistani ceasefire violations along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir.
