Hyderabad, Feb 04 (ANI): Hyderabad City Police Training Centre at Petla Burj has won the Union Home Minister's Trophy for the Best Police Training Institution in the country for the year 2019-2020. A cash prize of Rs 2 lakh will be given along with the trophy. Officers of the Police Training Centre got felicitated with awards for Trophy for best Police Training Institution in India. A cash prize has also been given along with the trophy.

Delhi Police arrests 1 person, registers 4 FIRs against social media accounts for spreading fake news

New Delhi, Feb 04 (ANI): Delhi Police has arrested a person and registered four FIRs in connection with spread of misinformation in the aftermath of the violence that broke out in Delhi on Republic Day. Delhi Police PRO Chinmoy Biswal said, "Four FIRs have been registered and one person has been arrested in this regard. We have issued 4 notices to 4 people. After getting their statements, we'll further investigate the matter."

Private nursing college in Mangaluru sealed after 40 students test positive for COVID-19

Mangaluru (Karnataka), Feb 04 (ANI): A private nursing college in Ullal, Mangaluru of Dakshina Kannada district has been sealed after 40 of its students tested positive for COVID-19. The students had arrived from Kerala. The officials from the district health department and Ullal city municipality visited the spot and declared it as a containment zone and ordered to seal down the college and hospital. According to the Karnataka health department, Dakshina Kannada on Wednesday reported 61 new cases taking the total number of cases in the district to 33,888 including 32,867 discharges, 281 active cases, and 738 deaths. Karnataka on Wednesday reported 426 new COVID-19 cases, 433 discharges, and 2 deaths. Total cases in the state rose to 9,40,596 including 9,22,437 discharges, 12,225 deaths and 5,915 active cases.

Govansh Raksha Abhiyan demands immediate action on illegal bull fights in Goa

Panaji (Goa), Feb 04 (ANI): Members of NGO Govansh Raksha Abhiyan met North Goa Collector demanding to stop illegal Bull fights organised in North Goa and illegal transportation of beef from other states. The members also alleged that Goa Police has failed to seize beef imports from the illegal slaughter houses of Karnataka's various districts. "We're raising our voice since 2012. Collector is empowered to take action in the matter. We've given him a letter urging to look into the issue," said a member. GRAG has demanded immediate action against the wrongdoers.

Single largest order: DRDO Chairman on IAF purchasing 83 LCA Tejas

Bengaluru, Feb 03 (ANI): In order to make India Aatmanirbhar, DRDO exhibited high level of indigenous content in defence forces. DRDO has displayed the models of its futuristic fighter aircraft, including the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft and LCA Mark 2, at Aero India 2021 in Bengaluru. Defence Research and Development Organisation has also showcased India's under-development fifth-generation fighter aircraft Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft at Aero India. As per DRDO, the aircraft would come with stealth features and all capabilities of a multirole fighter plane.

Tihar Haat and Tihar Emporia reopen

New Delhi, Feb 03 (ANI): Both the exclusive stores namely Tihar Haat and Tihar Emporia of tihar jail were closed during the nationwide lockdown due to spread of COVID-19 pandemic. A wide range of products made by prison inmates like Bakery products, Namkeen, Biscuits, Spices, Housekeeping products, Wooden Crafts, Mustard Oil, Hand-made File Covers, Pant-Shirts, Blankets and Bed-sheets, Facemasks are retailed on these stores. The prisoners who are lodged in Semi-Open Jail are employed at these stores as store-assist. With the improvement in COVID-19 situation, Tihar Emporia reopened in August last year and Tihar Haat resumed its service recently. Both the stores will remain opened on all seven days from 11AM to 07PM. The new venture Tihar Art Gallery will also come up very soon near the Tihar Haat building. Here, paintings and sculpture made by Tihar Prison inmates will be showcased for exhibition and sale purposes.
