Kozhikode (Kerala), May 28 (ANI): People queued up outside a shop in Kozhikode, as Kerala State Beverages Corporation resumed the commercial sale of liquor today, amid lockdown. Security has been deployed to maintain law and order. State govt has released a mobile app BevQ to avoid crowding. Only customers with the app's e-token are allowed to purchase liquor.
Pulwama (J-K), May 28 (ANI): A major incident of a vehicle-borne Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast was averted by the timely input and action by Pulwama Police, CRPF and Army, informed Kashmir Zone Police. Last night, Pulwama Police got credible information that a terrorist was moving with an explosive-laden car. They took out various parties of police and security forces (SFs) and covered all possible routes keeping themselves and security forces away from road at safer location. The suspected vehicle came and a few rounds of bullets were fired towards it. Going a little further the vehicle was abandoned and the driver escaped in the darkness. On closer look, the vehicle was seen to be carrying heavy explosives in a drum on the rear seat. To avert horrific incident, In-situ explosion of the vehicle, which was carrying IED was done.
Kolkata, May 28 (ANI): Domestic flight operations resumed in West Bengal on May 28. New guidelines have been issued by CM Mamata Banerjee-led government for passengers. Passengers arrived at Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata, while maintaining social distancing, as they are screened before entering the terminal. Services of domestic flights had resumed across India on May 25, except Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal.

Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh), May 27 (ANI): Swarms of desert locusts have reached around the border of Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh. The farmers have been asked to be prepared for the locusts attack by using tin cases, tractors' sound without silencer and other traditional methods to make locusts go away.One of the farmers said, "We have seen on Facebook, the vice chancellor of Agricultural college has said that we should make sound with the help of plates, Tin cases and tractors to demolish the desert locust swarms attack" Locust is a crop eater insect that can destroy the whole farm.
Chandigarh, May 19 (ANI): Punjab Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu on current COVID-19 situation in the state said the cured rate of 64%, as of May19, is the best throughout the country. "However, the fight is still on as many Non-resident Indians (NRIs) and people who are stranded in other states are returning," he added. The total number of COVID-19 cases in Punjab stands at 1964, which includes 35 deaths and 1366 recovery so far.
Paradip (Odisha), May 19 (ANI): In the wake of super cyclone Amphan, India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning to suspend all fishing activity in Bengal and Odisha till May 20. Cyclone Amphan is likely to make landfall in between West Bengal and Bangladesh on May 20. Teams of National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) have been deployed for rescue and relief operation.
Bhubaneswar (Odisha), May 19 (ANI): While speaking to ANI in Odisha on May 19, India Meteorological Department (IMD) Bhubaneswar's Deputy Director, Umashankar Das on cyclonic storm 'Amphan' said Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Jajpur and Jagatsinghpur districts to be most affected. "We are expecting it will cross land by becoming a very severe cyclonic storm," he added.

Srinagar (J-K), May 19 (ANI): An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in Nawakadal area of Srinagar on May 18. The operation was launched on a credible police input last night in Kanemazar. One Police SOG (Special Operation Group) personnel injured. The shop owners have to follow some safety norms like social distancing and hygiene. "Morning tea is important. Tea stalls opened after 2 months. People are coming for it," a customer said. Meanwhile, paan and tea shops also resumed their services in Gujarat's Rajkot from today onwards. The shop owners have to ensure that customers maintain a minimum 6 feet distance from each other and that not more than 5 people are present at one time at the shop.
Jagatsinghpur (Odisha), May 19 (ANI): In view of the impending cyclone Amphan, residents from coastal areas in Odisha's Jagatsinghpur were shifted to shelter homes. They are living in a fear of what holds for them in coming days. Adequate arrangements have been made at the shelter homes. The mishap took place at National Highway-31 in Bhagalpur's Naugachia. The injured have been rushed to a nearby hospital. Meanwhile, evacuation operation is underway.

Mahoba (UP), May 19 (ANI): Three migrant labourers were killed and over 12 sustained injuries after a DCM vehicle carrying them overturned on Jhansi-Mirzapur highway, on May 18. About 17 persons were travelling in the vehicle. The injured have been rushed to a nearby hospital. The bus originated from the national capital to Uttar Pradesh.

Nationwide lockdown has been extended till May 31 with more relaxations. While speaking to ANI, some taxi drivers expressed their feelings. "We welcome government's decision to resume taxi services. Taxis can operate with only 2 passengers at a time in a car," a taxi driver said. "We welcome and thank central government and state government' decision," another driver said. Yavatmal (Maharashtra), May 19 (ANI): Four migrant workers killed and 15 were injured after a bus they were travelling in crashed into a truck, in Maharashtra's Yavatmal on May 19. The injured have been rushed to a nearby hospital. The bus was travelling from Solapur to Jharkhand.
