Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Apr 13 (ANI): While addressing a press conference in Chennai on April 13, the Health Secretary of Tamil Nadu, Dr Beela Rajesh said, "Today, the number of samples that are positive are 98. Of these 98, 91 are from a 'single source' and seven are from contacts." There are total 1075 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Tamil Nadu. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 8048 in India and 324 deaths.

Ranchi (Jharkhand), Apr 13 (ANI): Amid lockdown due to novel coronaviurs outbreak, Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren provided free ration to needy ones. Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Department distributed food to needy ones under various scheme. Emergency relief packets are also being distributed among the needy. Apart from this, FCI is also providing wheat to the flour mills in view of the shortage of flour in the market. CM Soren also tweeted about the same. Meanwhile, Delhi Police played a major role in making the lockdown successful in the national capital. From smooth movement of roads to discipline on roads to helping needy ones, Delhi Police was always there for the locals. Speaking on the efforts of Delhi Police, Commissioner SN Srivastava said, "Delhi Police have made sure that goods reach to traders during the lockdown period. We ensured that the movement of doctors to hospitals or patients to doctors goes smoothly. We maintained discipline on roads. We also helped needy people and arranged food for them. Dehradun (Uttarakhand), Apr 13 (ANI): While addressing the media amid COVID-19 outbreak on April 13, the CM of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat said, "No new COVID-19 positive case reported in the state in the last 100 hours. 7 positive patients have recovered till now." "The orders have been issued to impose curfew in Banbhoolpura area of Haldwani, in order to control spread of COVID-19 in the region," he added. "The order has been issued as a preventive measure as huge crowds were seen at public places in Banbhoolpura on April 12," Uttarakhand CM further stated.
New Delhi, Apr 13 (ANI): Police Commissioner of Delhi, SN Srivastava informed that corona carriers of Tablighi Jamaat are quarantined and it helped in containing COVID-19. SN Srivastava said, "We have quarantined the corona carriers of Tablighi Jamaat. The majority of people were directly taken to quarantine center from Markaz. This helped in containing COVID-19. We have also registered a case in this matter."

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 13 (ANI): During a press conference held in Lucknow on April 13, Uttar Pradesh's Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Avinash Awasthi informed that 85% of the corona cases are inside the 'ring fence' in the state. He said, "Chief Minister has given strict instructions that action will be taken against those who will be found hiding the coronavirus. The orders were given on 29th, 30th and 31st March for checking in every village and house and even temple so now action will be taken against all people who will be found to be in hiding. Chief Minister has also ordered that action will be taken against the concerned dist administration and police." He further said, "District Magistrates themselves had identified hotspots in 15 districts, in the 1st phase and around 25 districts, in the 2nd phase. More than 480 corona cases have been found here. So, 85% of the corona cases are inside the 'ring fence'. Around 20 lakh population of Uttar Pradesh is under hotspots."

Chandigarh, Apr 13 (ANI): PGI Chandigarh Director Jagat Ram informed that the surgery of Punjab ASI, whose hand was chopped off by Nihangs, was very challenging and took more than seven hours to execute."The operation theatre was kept ready as soon as I received the call from DGP Punjab. It was a very challenging surgery and took about 7 1/2 hours. He (Punjab ASI whose hand was chopped off) is stable today but recovery will take time," said Ram.
