Punjab cops help woman deliver baby on roadside after hospitals deny entry

Moga (Punjab), Apr 05 (ANI): Two policemen on night patrolling duty helped a woman deliver her baby on the roadside in Dharamkot after three hospitals refused to open their doors for her. Harmanbir Singh Gill, SSP said, "Seeing the lady in pain ASI Bikkar Singh and constable Sukhjinder Singh Singh arranged for wooden benches and called some women from the neighborhood. With all these efforts the woman gave birth to a boy. They will be given award for this act of humanity."

Robbers attempt to steal liquor in Mumbai amid lockdown

Mumbai, Apr 05 (ANI): In an incident captured on CCTV on April 2, three robbers managed to slide in wine shop amid lockdown. Robbers cleverly broke the shutter door of the outlet and attempted to steal liquor. However, they managed to flee after they were spotted. Several liquor robbery cases have been reported in past few days amid lockdown.

62-yr-old invents automatic sanitisation machine in Mandsaur

Mandsaur (MP), Apr 05 (ANI): Coronavirus pandemic has bought nation to standstill. People from all walks of life are joining hands to combat the virus. In order to ease the situation, a 62-year-old man in Mandsaur developed an automatic sanitisation machine and gifted it to the district hospital. Inspired by YouTube, Naharu Khan built the machine that can disinfect around 20 people in one minute.

Skype introduces 'Meet Now' for signup-free video calls

New Delhi, Apr 05 (ANI): As video conferencing becomes popular in the times of social distancing, Skype introduced a new feature that allows one to make calls without having to sign up or download. Called Meet Now, the feature lets you set up a collaboration space and invite Skype as well as non-Skype contacts for video calls. As the official website explains, you can start a meeting by generating the unique link and sharing it with others to begin a video or audio call. For non-Skype members who do not have the app installed on their device, the meeting will open in the Skype for the Web client. Users can choose to record calls which will be available for later review for up to 30 days.

Kerala to start rapid test for coronavirus from tomorrow, says state Health Minister

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), Apr 04 (ANI): Kerala Health Minister KK Shailaja informed that 9 labs are conducting polymerase chain reaction tests in Kerala, and the state government will start rapid test from tomorrow. "9 labs are conducting polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests in Kerala. We've received 2000 rapid test kits and will start rapid tests from tomorrow. If a person tests positive in rapid test, we need to confirm it with PCR test. Even if a person is found negative for #COVID19 in rapid test, they need to complete the 14 days mandatory quarantine period. There are 295 cases in Kerala out of which 251 cases are active," said Shailaja on the preparedness to battle COVID-19 pandemic.

42% corona cases fall in 21-40 age group, 17% patients above 60 years: Health Ministry

New Delhi, Apr 04 (ANI): Health Ministry informed that 42% patients of coronavirus belong to 21-40 years of age group, while 33% cases pertain to patients between 41-60 years age. "Nine per cent COVID-19 patients belong to 0-20 years age, 42 per cent patients belong to 21-40 years age, 33 per cent cases pertain to patients between 41-60 years age, and 17 per cent patients have crossed 60 years age," said Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Health Ministry.

30% of all coronavirus cases linked to Delhi Jamaat event, 17 states affected: Govt

New Delhi, Apr 04(ANI): The Health Ministry on April 04 informed that out of the total cases in the country, 1023 COVID-19 positive cases from 17 states have been found directly linked to the Tableeghi Jammat event held in Delhi last month. Lav Agarwal said, "30% of the total cases came from one place where we could not understand and manage it. Therefore our actions should be stringent and effort coordinated."

COVID-19: Local industrialists successfully made ventilator in 10 days, says Gujarat CM

Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Apr 04 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani informed that local industrialists of the state have successfully made ventilator in 10 days because of which there will be no shortage of ventilators in the state. "Local industrialists in Gujarat have got successful in making ventilators in 10 days. Ventilators have been certified and tested successfully. I hope there will be no shortage of ventilators in the state now," said Rupani on upcoming possible shortage of ventilators when coronavirus cases will peak.

Kerala academician starts online creative writing course amid corona lockdown

Thiruvanthapuram (Kerala), Apr 03(ANI): An academician in Thiruvanthapuram, Babitha Marina Justin, has started an online creative writing course of one-month amid the coronavirus lockdown. People from varying age groups have shown interest in the course, and Babitha has started the batch of 20 students who belongs to 15-50 years age group. Babitha Marina Justin said that this idea was in her mind for long but this was an opportunistic moment to execute this idea. She says, "When I posted about it, the response was tremendous. Today 20 students from 15-50 years of age are in the 1st batch."

India recorded 601 coronavirus cases in last 24 hours, total at 2902: Health Ministry

New Delhi, Apr 04 (ANI): Health Ministry informed that there are 2,902 COVID-19 positive cases in India in which 183 people have been recovered so far on April 04. "Till now there are 2,902 COVID-19 positive cases in India. 601 positive cases have been reported since yesterday, 12 deaths also reported yesterday taking total deaths to 68. 183 people have recovered/discharged," said Health Ministry.

16 tests corona positive in Haryana's Palwal, all attended Delhi Markaz: CMO

Palwal (Haryana), Apr 04 (ANI): 16 people (out of 56) have tested positive for Coronavirus in Haryana's Palwal district on April 04. "All these people have attended the Nizamuddin Markaz," said Chief Medical Officer Dr Brahm Deep Singh. Over 2,500 people from all over India and some from abroad had attended the Tablighi Jamaat congregation at Nizamuddin area in Delhi last month. Over 600 of them have tested positive for coronavirus.

4 found positive for coronavirus in UP's Hathras linked to Nizamuddin Markaz

Hathras (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 04 (ANI): 4 people found positive for coronavirus in Uttar Pradesh's Hathras. According to police officials, they have attended congregation in Delhi's Nizamuddin Markaz. Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Hathras said, "There were 12 people out of whom four people found positive for coronavirus, they have now referred to 'COVID ONE' hospital." Over 2,500 people from all over India and some from abroad had attended a Tablighi Jamaat congregation at Nizamuddin area in Delhi earlier last month. At least 6 of them have died and over 100 of them have tested positive for coronavirus.

Kulgam encounter: 4 Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists neutralised

Kulgam (Jammu and Kashmir), Apr 04 (ANI): Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir neutralised three Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists in an encounter on April 04. According to Jammu and Kashmir Police, a group of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists was killing civilians over the last 12 days. 4 civilians were killed by them in South Kashmir. In the wake of these killings, an operation was launched in Kulgam by security forces and all of them have been neutralized. 2 coronavirus patients die in MP's Indore

Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Apr 04 (ANI): Two people have died due to coronavirus in MP's Indore. CMHO of Indore, Dr Praveen Jadia informed, "Two people are reportedly died of coronavirus. One is an 80-year-old woman while the other is a 42-year-old man. A total of 7 people, including these two, have died in Indore due to novel coronavirus as of now and 115 positive cases are reported."
