New Delhi, Feb 18 (ANI): Congress MP Manish Tewari said on February 18 that there is a need to revisit what liberalization means for India politically. "There are some fundamental issues, ideological in nature, which have been bedeviling Congress for a while. It's Congress which presided over the socialist dogma from 1947 to 1991. In 1991, Congress oversaw liberalization and globalization of economy," said Tewari. "While economy moved from socialism to more social equity based model, we couldn't make that transformation politically. There is need to revisit what liberalization means for India politically and need to reorient our political language keeping in view that reality," leader further said.
Manesar (Haryana), Feb 18 (ANI): 248 people, who are among the Indian nationals who were evacuated from China's Wuhan and were quarantined at Manesar Army camp, have been allowed to go home after being tested negative for coronavirus. Major General R Datta told ANI that all the quarantined people were healthy since they were evacuated and the doctors did daily check-ups.

Patna (Bihar), Feb 18 (ANI): Political strategist Prashant Kishor got excluded from Nitish Kumar-led JD(U). Speaking on his expulsion at a press conference held in Patna, Prashant Kishor said, "I have had good relations with Nitish ji. I met him for the first time in 2014 in Delhi. I have immense respect for him. I accept his decision wholeheartedly whether it is about including me in the party or excluding me from it. I will not question his decision."
Ghaziabad (UP), Feb 18 (ANI): Ghaziabad district administration has ordered to keep a check during UP Board exams. Administration has also ordered to put inquiry against those who will play loudspeakers during the exams. UP Board exams for class 10th and 12th began from February 18.
New Delhi, Feb 18 (ANI): Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries has announced a consolidation of its media and distributing businesses spread across multiple entities into Network18. The board of directors at respective companies has approved the scheme of amalgamation and arrangements, according to a statement issued by Reliance Industries. The broadcasting business will be housed in Network18 and the cable and ISP businesses in two separate wholly-owned subsidiaries of Network18. The combined broadband entity will serve one million wired broadband subscribers across the country. Reliance's holding in Network18 will reduce from 75 per cent to 64 per cent upon implementation of the scheme.
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Feb 18 (ANI): Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government tabled its fourth budget in the state assembly on February 18. CM Yogi said, "Budget 2020-21 is the biggest budget in the history of Uttar Pradesh. It has even crossed the prime budget of Rs 5,00,000 crores of the state government. We tabled the budget of more than Rs 5,12,000 crores today in the state assembly. We have dedicated this budget to our youth. We allotted a budget for Ganga Expressway. To make air connectivity better in UP, we are setting up a new airport at Jewar in Gautam Budh Nagar district. The budget also set aside for developing an International airport at Ayodhya. Not only farmers but also farmers who work on sharing-basis can enjoy 'Kisan Bima Yojna' now. We have allotted budget to provide functional piped water to all households, and for modernization of UP Police for security of civilians."
Lucknow- Gorakhpur (UP), Feb 18 (ANI): UP Board exams for class 10 and class 12 began from February 18. Well-prepared exams are appearing for different subjects today. CCTV cameras have been installed at centres to keep a strict check on students. UP Deputy CM Dinesh Sharma also visited examination centres for inspection.
Hyderabad, Feb 18 (ANI): At least one person died after an over-speeding car fell down from a flyover in Hyderabad. Six members were present in the car including the driver who died. Other five people received severe injuries and have been admitted to the hospital. The horrific accident was captured in CCTV footage. A case has been registered. Further investigation is underway.
New Delhi, Feb 18 (ANI): In the horrific, long ongoing case of 2012 gang rape, Nirbhaya's mother, Asha Devi stated that after all the challenges, now she has no doubts on the delay of death warrant of convicts in the case. "I will only feel happy and satisfied when all the convicts will be hanged. We were happy when first death warrant was generated but since then we had to undergo several challenges. So, I hope our struggle will only end on March 03. I don't have any doubt that the death warrant will be postponed now," said Asha Devi.
Pratapgarh (Rajasthan), Feb 18 (ANI): Carcass of an 8-year-old panther was found in Rajasthan's Pratapgarh on February 16. Body of male panther was found in forest area of Pratapgarh. No injury marks were found on the carcass. Post-mortem was being conducted to ascertain reason of death.
Rampur (Uttar Pradesh), Feb 18 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh Board exams commenced from February 18 for class 10 and class 12. While speaking to media in Rampur on February 18, the Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel spoke on UP board examination. She said, "Students should read the entire question paper peacefully and attempt the question which they know the best. They should not look here and there." "Students should utilise their 3 hours properly," UP Governor added.

New Delhi, Feb 18 (ANI): Two more Indians stranded on the cruise ship Diamond Princess have been tested positive for coronavirus. The four Indian crew members who were earlier tested positive with the deadly disease are stable and receiving treatment. Around 99 new Covid-19 positive cases have been reported onboard Diamond Princess. Meanwhile, death toll in mainland China have jumped over 1800. Wuhan hospital director also passed away today due to the deadly disease.

He said, "There are two reasons of our differences. First and foremost is the ideological positioning. I have this dilemma that if you preach Gandhi's ideology then why you are following Godse's ideology or why are you with those who are following it. Our second problem is with Nitish Kumar's positioning in JD(U). We want a leader who is empowered and who is not hanger-on in speaking his words for betterment of Bihar." Mangaluru (Karnataka), Feb 18 (ANI): In a bid to encourage people to donate blood, a restaurant provided complementary biryani to those who donated blood in Karnataka's Mangaluru. 'Utada Mane', a biryani lounge provided complementary biryani to blood donors. They work in association with KMC blood bank. The blood donation camp was organised from February 08 to February 14. Utada Mane restaurant put posters with a message-'Eat What You Take, Take What You Eat' on their walls. The restaurant started this initiative six years ago.
Thane (Maharashtra), Feb 18 (ANI): While addressing a public gathering in Maharashtra's Thane on February 17, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader and Maharashtra Housing Minister Jitendra Awhad spoke about Census. New Delhi, Feb 18 (ANI): Mohammad Mustafa, a student from Jamia Millia Islamia who got injured during the December 15 violence had file a case in Delhi High Court against the Delhi Police and has sought compensation of one crore rupees. While recalling December 15 violent incident, Mustafa said that he wanted an independent inquiry into the matter.
Bijnor (UP), Feb 18 (ANI): A passenger train on Najibabad to Aligarh route got derailed in UP's Bijnor on Feb 18. Rescue department rushed to the spot immediately after the incident was reported. The train was derailed due to shunting process. No injuries have been reported so far, further investigation is underway.
