Owner of Delhi factory, where 43 people died, arrested

New Delhi, Dec 08 (ANI): In the latest development in Delhi's Anaj Mandi fire, police have arrested the owner of the building, Rehan. A case has been registered under section 304 of the Indian Penal Code against him. Earlier today, a massive fire broke out at a luggage manufacturing factory in Anaj Mandi on Dec 08. At least 43 people lost their lives in the fire, and more than 50 people were rescued.

Delhi Anaj Mandi fire: Trying to provide best possible care to injured, says Harsh Vardhan

New Delhi, Dec 08 (ANI): Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Harsh Vardhan, visited the Delhi fire incident site in Anaj Mandi on Dec 08. The fire incident at Anaj Mandi claimed lives of 43 people. Speaking on it, Harsh Vardhan said, "What has happened today is very painful. I am now going to meet the injured at the Hospital. We are trying that the best possible care is provided to the injured."

Delhi's Anaj Mandi factory example of exploitation of workers: Ashwini Choubey

New Delhi, Dec 08 (ANI): Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Ashwini Choubey met the Delhi fire injured at LNJP hospital on Dec 08. A fire had broken out in a factory at Anaj Mandi and more than 50 people received severe injuries. At least 43 people succumbed to injuries in the incident. Speaking to ANI regarding incident, MoS Choubey said, "It is heartbreaking and a very sad incident. All those who injured, belong to labour class and are mostly from Bihar. It is more miserable that even children also work in this factory." He further said, "The way the illegal factory was operating is already questionable and even the children were also working in it. No proper facility was given to those who were working in this factory. It was a live example of exploitation of factory workers."

Delhi Anaj Mandi fire: Owner of building and his manager arrested, confirms Police

New Delhi, Dec 08 (ANI): Delhi woke up to one of the most heart wrenching incidents in Anaj Mandi where 43 people died in a fire at a luggage manufacturing factory. While several people got injured and admitted to hospital. Police arrested the building owner, Rehan, and his manager, Furkan, in the matter. A case has been registered under section 304 of the Indian Penal Code against them. Speaking on it, DCP of North Delhi, Monika Bhardwaj said, "One of the owners of the building, Rehan, and his manager, Furkan, have been arrested. We are investigating the matter. From the information we have, more or less, there is no possibility of more bodies being recovered."

One-day wheelchair cricket match organised in Mangaluru

Gangrape victim allegedly attacked with acid by accused in Muzaffarnagar

Muzaffarnagar (UP), Dec 08 (ANI): A woman was allegedly attacked with acid by four persons in UP's Muzaffarnagar against whom she had filed a case of gang rape. New Delhi, Dec 08 (ANI): A massive fire had broken out in Delhi's Anaj Mandi on Dec 08. At least 43 people died and more than 50 people have been rescued and were admitted to a nearby hospital. Speaking on the matter, Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh said, "First of all, it is a very sad incident where 43 people lost their lives. A lot of them have been injured and are admitted in the hospital. Indeed, fire brigade tried their best to save lives but I feel sorry that BJP is doing politics over it at this time as well. If a factory was operating illegally at a house, then, it was responsibility of Municipal Corporation of Delhi to shut it. MCD runs by BJP. How did MCD allow the factory to run? Delhi Fire Service has clarified that it didn't give a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to the factory."

Delhi fire: Rescue operation underway, says NDRF

New Delhi, Dec 08 (ANI): National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and Forensic team reached at the fire spot in Old Delhi. NDRF's Deputy Commandant Aditya Pratap Singh said, "Rescue operation is still underway, we are still searching the building."
