The oath was administered by Tripura Governor Ramesh Bais at old Raj Bhavan in Agartala. Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb was present at the oath-taking ceremony besides other dignitaries.

Smog blankets Delhi, air quality remains 'Poor'

New Delhi, Nov 17 (ANI): A layer of thick smog blankets the national capital on November 17. There is no respite for people as air quality remains 'Poor'. According to Air Quality Index (AQI), major pollutants in Delhi's Lodhi Road, PM 2.5 stood at 226, and PM 10 at 222, which means 'poor'. To curb air pollution, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal-led government in Delhi has announced implementation of odd-even scheme from Nov 04-15.

Cardiovascular issues may be connected to early menopause: Study

New Delhi, Nov 17 (ANI): A new research suggests that attaining menopause before the age of 40 is linked to several heart conditions in women. The study was presented at the American Heart Association's Scientific Sessions 2019 in Philadelphia. During an average of seven years of follow-up, researchers found that women who had experienced premature menopause were significantly more likely to develop conventional heart disease risk factors, such as high blood pressure, high levels of "bad" cholesterol and Type 2 diabetes.

Pinterest's new feature attempts to curb self-harm searches on social media

New Delhi, Nov 17 (ANI): Pinterest, the go-to place for DIY projects, has introduced a new feature to help those looking at ways to self-harm. The new feature spots search queries that involve self-harm. Instead of showing related content, it shows 10 exercises such as drawing, writing down your feelings, or ripping up pages, instead of hurting oneself, to cope with the negative feelings, FastCompany reports. Earlier, Pinterest offered external links to resources such as the National Suicide Prevention Hotline, now these resources are integrated directly into the platform. The new activities are available to users in the US on iOS and Android.

Train coach derailed near Yerpedu Railway Station, no injuries reported

Chittoor (AP), Nov 17 (ANI): A coach of Kerala Express (Delhi to Trivandrum) derailed near Yerpedu railway station in Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh on Nov 16. No casualties have been reported so far. Cause behind derailment is yet to be ascertained. More details in this regard are awaited.

Over 4,000 liters of liquor seized in Bihar

Maharashtra Govt will be under Shiv Sena CM's leadership, reiterates Sanjay Raut

Mumbai, Nov 16 (ANI): Shiv Sena leader, Sanjay Raut in Mumbai reiterated that the Government in Maharashtra will be under the leadership of a Chief Minister of Shiv Sena. Speaking to ANI, Shiv Sena said, "Undoubtedly, the government that we are going to form in Maharashtra will be under the leadership of a Chief Minister of Shiv Sena. We have got to know that the seating arrangement of two Shiv Sena MPs has been changed in the Parliament." Shiv Sena and BJP who had fought the Maharashtra Assembly polls together failed to form the government due to differences over power sharing. With no party or alliance presenting a letter of majority, Maharashtra Governor imposed President's rule in the state.

Lok Sabha Speaker chairs all-party meeting ahead of winter session

New Delhi, Nov 16 (ANI): Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla on November 16 held a meeting with the leaders of all political parties in Delhi for the "smooth functioning" of Parliament during the upcoming winter session which is beginning from November 18. While the government is expected to lay thrust on its legislative agenda during the meeting, the opposition parties are likely to raise the issues of their concern during the session which will continue till December 13. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi will also convene an all-party meeting on November 17. It will be the second session since Prime Minister Narendra Modi returned to the office with a bigger majority for a second successive term.

Mumbai tops ranking for quality of tap water, Delhi at bottom

New Delhi, Nov 16 (ANI): The quality of tap water was found to be the worst in the national capital. Union Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Ram Vilas Paswan on Saturday released the much-awaited report of the study of samples of drinking water taken from 20 states across the country, including Delhi. However, Mumbai topped the ranking released by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) for quality of tap water. Delhi finished at the bottom, with 11 out of 11 samples failing on 19 parameters.

Sabarimala opens for annual 'Mandala Pooja' in Kerala

144 dengue cases recorded in Bihar's Muzaffarpur

Muzaffarpur (Bihar), Nov 16 (ANI): 144 Dengue cases have been recorded in Bihar's Muzaffarpur. "144 people have been tested positive for Dengue in Muzaffarpur. Fogging for dengue prevention has been done at 52 locations in the city," Muzaffarpur's Civil Surgeon Dr. Shailesh Prasad Singh told ANI. The number of cases tested positive for dengue were counted from January to November this year.
