Pune (Maharashtra), Oct 19 (ANI): Union Minister Piyush Goyal said on Friday (October 18) that Nobel winner Abhijit Banerjee is 'totally Left-leaning' and his theories have been rejected by the people of India "I congratulate Abhijit Banerjee the winner of Nobel prize in Economics. You all know that his thinking is totally 'Left-leaning'," said Union Minister Piyush Goyal. Abhijit Banerjee bagged Nobel Prize for Economics jointly with Esther Duflo and Michael Kremer. Banerjee has been credited by Rahul Gandhi for his inputs in Congress proposed 'NYAY' scheme during 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Hindu Samaj leader's body brought to his native village amid tight security

Sitapur/Lucknow (UP), Oct 19 (ANI): Body of Hindu Samaj Party chief Kamlesh Tiwari, who was killed on Friday (October 18) was taken brought to his native place Mahmudabad in Sitapur from the mortuary after Post-Mortem Examination (PME) amid tight security. Tiwari was killed at Naka area of Lucknow on Friday. He was the former leader of Hindu Mahasabha and had founded the Hindu Samaj Party. After being attacked, Tiwari was immediately taken to a hospital where he succumbed to injuries. The assailants managed to flee from the spot. A revolver was also recovered from the site of the crime. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted to investigate Tiwari's murder. Earlier on Friday, Uttar Pradesh Director General of Police OP Singh had said accused knew Tiwari as they spent around 30 minutes with him on the pretext of gifting him sweets. "Before killing Kamlesh Tiwari, the alleged murderers who were known to him spent around 30 minutes with him at his home in Naka area of Lucknow.

Apple to launch new AirPods Pro by October end

New Delhi, Oct 19 (ANI): Apple is long-rumoured to be working on a new-generation wireless AirPods and if the latest reports are anything to go by, the AirPods Pro may launch at the end of this month.China Economic Daily reports that the new-generation device, dubbed Apple AirPods Pro, will boast a design upgrade with a new in-ear form factor. It will also come with a noise reduction feature. Price of the high-end AirPods Pro is likely to exceed USD 260 or 18,483 Indian Rupees.

41% milk samples of poor quality, 7 % samples unfit to consume: FSSAI survey

New Delhi, Oct 19 (ANI): In the first-ever survey on milk safety parameters, the top food regulator Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) discovered that about 41 percent samples fell short of some kind of safety parameters. Moreover, seven percent packaged milk samples contained serious health hazard. The milk survey was conducted from May 2018 to 2019, covering all States and Union Territories with the objective of monitoring the safety and quality of liquid milk in the country. About 6,432 Milk samples were taken from across the country for adulteration concern and analysis. Another issue is the presence of antibiotics in the milk. 1.2 per cent of milk samples had shown the indications of antibiotics, according to the survey. In total, seven per cent of the milk samples were found to be unsafe which contained serious health hazard.

Salman Khan's bodyguard Shera joins Shiv Sena

2.6 kg gold worth Rs 1 crore seized from Chennai airport

Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Oct 18 (ANI): Around 2.6 kg gold worth Rs 1 crore was recovered by the Commissioner of Customs in Tamil Nadu's Chennai on October 17. The gold was seized at the Chennai International Airport. An unknown amount of US dollars was also seized by the customs department. Further investigation is underway.

Unemployment rate highest in 40 years: Rahul Gandhi targets Modi govt over jobs
