AAI celebrates 5th International Yoga Day

New Delhi, June 21 (ANI): Officials and staff members of Airports Authority of India and Ministry of Civil Aviation performed various 'asanas' to mark the 5thInternational Yoga Day at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan in New Delhi on Friday. The theme for this year's International Yoga Day was "Climate Action". Secretary of Civil Aviation, Pradeep Singh Kharola also performed 'asanas' with an aim to raise awareness of Yoga's health benefits. Chairman of Airports Authority of India, Guruprasad Mohapatra also performed 'asanas' under the guidance of an instructor who explained the benefits of various yoga exercises. Families of AAI had also gathered to explore and avail the benefits of yoga. The staff members also pledged to practice yoga in their daily life. Originated from India, Yoga is considered to be around 5,000 year old practice to attain mental, physical and spiritual healing. Researcher develops mind-controlled robotic arm

New Delhi, June 21 (ANI): A collaborative team of researchers has developed the first-ever successful mind-controlled robotic arm, which can help people with disability. Using a non-invasive Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) has been shown to achieve good performance for controlling robotic devices using only the signals sensed from brain implants. When controlled with high precision, they can be used to complete daily tasks. A grand challenge in BCI research is to develop less invasive or even totally non-invasive technology that would allow paralysed patients to control their environment or robotic limbs using their own "thoughts". However, BCIs that use non-invasive external sensing, rather than brain implants, receive 'dirtier' signals, leading to the current lower resolution and less precise control. IAF An-32 crash: Rajnath Singh pays homage to 13 personnel

New Delhi, June 21 (ANI): Defence Minister Rajnath Singh paid homage to 13 personnel, who lost their lives in IAF An-32 crash in Arunachal Pradesh. The wreath laying ceremony performed at Palam Airport. The plane had gone missing on June 3. Massive fire breaks out near Kalindi Kunj metro station, Magenta line services temporarily suspended

New Delhi, June 21 (ANI): A massive fire broke out in a furniture market in Delhi's Shaheen Bagh near Kalindi Kunj metro station on Friday. 17 fire tenders are present at the spot to douse the flames.
