Venu Srinivasan reappointed as trustee, JLR hack hits UK economy, India’s steel sector woes

Industrialist Venu Srinivasan was reappointed as a life trustee of the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust on Wednesday, a day before his three-year term was to end. The decision was taken unanimously by the board of trustees. An independent cybersecurity report said the August cyberattack on Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), owned by Tata Motors, cost the UK economy $2.55 billion and affected over 5,000 organisations. Losses could rise if JLR’s production takes longer than expected to normalise. In its October Bulletin, the RBI said India’s steel sector is under pressure from cheap imports and warned that dumping is hurting domestic producers’ competitiveness.
