BJP forming govt in Assam: CM Sonowal

Guwahati (Assam), May 02 (ANI): As trends indicated BJP's return to power in Assam, Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal said the counting of votes is still going on but it is clear that the BJP is forming government in the state. Sonowal attributed the performance of BJP to "public cooperation". According to Election Commission, BJP and its allies were leading on nearly 80 seats in the 126-member Assam Assembly.

31 test COVID positive at Ambala juvenile correction home

Ambala (Haryana), Apr 30 (ANI): 31 out of 85 samples tested positive for COVID-19 at juvenile correction home in Ambala. IAF C-17 aircraft loads oxygen tankers in Bangkok

Bangkok (Thailand), Apr 30 (ANI): Oxygen tankers were loaded in Indian Air Force C-17 aircraft in Bangkok. Indian Air Force C-17s airlifted 3 cryogenic oxygen containers from Singapore to Panagarh (West Bengal) and 6 from Dubai to Panagarh today. In addition, a C-17 is presently airlifting 3 containers from Bangkok to Panagarh Airbase, informed Indian Air Force. Several countries have come forward to help India amid increasing COVID cases.

IAF airlifts 2 more tankers from Indore

Indore (MP), Apr 30 (ANI): An Indian Air Force C-17 aircraft on April 29 carried two more empty oxygen tankers from Indore to Jamnagar in Gujarat. Tankers, loaded with medical oxygen are scheduled to travel from Jamnagar to Indore by road. Tankers cannot be transported by IAF aircraft as the gas is considered flammable and may pose a threat.

Tripura needs 32 lakh vaccine doses for 100% vaccination of people between 18-44 years

Agartala (Tripura), Apr 30 (ANI): Tripura's National Health Mission director Dr. Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal informed that the state requires around 32 lakh vaccine doses for 100% vaccination of citizens in the age group of 18 to 44. Tripura's NHM has placed order with Serum Institute of India for 16 lakh doses of Covishield vaccine. Dr. Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal said, "We have requested them to provide 8 lakh vaccine doses on May 1 and the remaining 8 lakh on May 15. Citing limitation of their production capacity, at least 20 days will be required for them to provide us with Covishield vaccines."

Vaccination drive for above 18 yrs will not start in MP from May 01: CM Shivraj Singh

Bhopal (MP), Apr 29 (ANI): People of Madhya Pradesh will have to wait for few more days as state Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan informed that vaccine manufacturers won't be able to deliver vaccine doses on May 01. "We had placed orders for purchase Covishield and Covaxin vaccines. But manufacturers of both vaccines have said that they won't be able to deliver vaccine doses by May 1. Therefore, it won't be possible to start vaccination drive for those above 18 yrs on May 1," said CM Shivraj Singh.
