COVID-19: Dairy products sellers in Nagpur facing hardship

Nagpur (Maharashtra), Apr 28 (ANI): Sellers of dairy products in Nagpur say their business has slumped amid coronavirus lockdown. People are not coming to buy the dairy products because of which the sellers are facing losses. "Our business is down by 90 percent . We had to throw 150-200 kg paneer in 2-3 days, now we've reduced our production as there are very less buyers", said Roshan Gupta, one of the sellers.

COVID-19: Labourers pelt stones at Diamond Bourse office in Surat

Surat (Gujarat) Apr 28 (ANI): Labourers protested and pelted stones at the office of Diamond Bourse in Surat, alleging that they were made to work amid COVID-19 lockdown. Workers also demanded that they be sent back to their native places. Police reached the spot to control the situation.

1 Lakh a day tests target by May 31, RT-PCR and antibody test kits to be produced in India: Harsh Vardhan

New Delhi, Apr 28 (ANI): Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan on Tuesday said that we will able to produce RT-PCR and antibody test kits in India by May. The processes will start after getting approval from Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), he further said. "We will be able to produce RT-PCR and antibody test kits in India by May. All processes are in advanced stage and production will start after getting approval from ICMR. It will help us in meeting our target of 1 lakh tests per day by May 31," he said.

COVID-19 lockdown: Chhattisgarh students return from Kota

Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Apr 28 (ANI): Students from Chhattisgarh, who were stranded in Rajasthan's Kota, returned to their home state on April 28. Around 75 buses carrying over 2000 students have reached in Chhattisgarh. Students went for undergoing screening for COVID-19 symptoms after reaching Raipur.

COVID-19: Harsh Vardhan interacts with Autonomous Institutes, PSUs under Dept of Biotechnology via video conference

New Delhi, Apr 28 (ANI): Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on April 28 held a meeting with autonomous Institutes and PSUs under Department of Biotechnology via video conference. During the interaction, he informed them about the current situation of the country in regards to COVID-19 virus. "For the last 14 days, our doubling rate is 8.7, while for the last 7 days, it is 10.2 days. In last 3 days, it is 10.9 days roughly." India has recorded 21632 active cases and 934 people lost their lives due to COVID-19.

No COVID-19 case reported in 80 districts in last 7 days: Harsh Vardhan

New Delhi, Apr 28 (ANI): Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan on April 28 held a meeting with Autonomous Institutes under Department of Biotechnology via video conference. During the interaction, he said, "No fresh case has been reported in 80 districts since last 7 days. In 47 districts, no case has been reported in the last 14 days, while 39 districts have not reported a case since the last 21 days. Seventeen districts have not reported a case for last 28 days."

Electric appliances shops reopen in Delhi following govt's guidelines

New Delhi, Apr 28 (ANI): Electric appliances shops has started opening in Delhi on April 28, after the state government allowed to operate. The Delhi Government on April 27 allowed plumbers and electricians to operate after a complete review of COVID-19 situation in national capital. However, the shop owners have to follow the norms by maintaining social distancing and other safety measures. "We are happy with the governments order. We are following government's norms by maintaining social distancing," a shopkeeper said. Meanwhile, total number of positive cases in Delhi stands at 3108, which includes 54 deaths so far.

CM Yogi Adityanath chairs meeting over coronavirus situation in UP

COVID-19: IMA welcomes ICMR's guidelines of home isolation for patients with mild symptoms

New Delhi, Apr 28 (ANI): Indian Medical Association Hospital Board Joint Secretary Anil Goyal on April 28 welcomed Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) guidelines for home isolation of very mild and pre-symptomatic COVID-19 cases. Doubling rate of COVID-19 cases in Delhi is 13 days: Satyendar Jain

New Delhi, Apr 28 (ANI): Health Minister of Delhi, Satyendar Jain, on Tuesday said the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in national capital stands at 3108 and death toll stands at 54 till now. Adding in it, he said the doubling rate of COVID-19 cases in Delhi is 13 days. He said, "The total number of positive cases in Delhi stands at 3108 now, of which 190 cases were reported yesterday. 877 patients have been cured, while 11 are on ventilator. Death toll stands at 54. The doubling rate of COVID-19 cases in Delhi is 13 days."

Maharashtra Police take action against violators of lockdown norms at vegetable market

Nagpur (Maharashtra), Apr 28 (ANI): Maharashtra Police took action against the violators of coronavirus lockdown norms at vegetable market in Narendra Nagar in Maharashtra's Nagpur on April 28. As per norms, only 10 vehicles are allowed inside the market at a time. Maharashtra is the worst affected state in India from COVID-19 pandemic. The total number of COVID-19 cases in the state stands at 8590, which includes 396 deaths so far. "Only 10 vehicles are allowed inside the market at a time, so other vehicles were moved out and required action was taken," a police official said.

Drug addict kills two priests in UP's Bulandshahr

Bulandshahr (UP), Arp 28 (ANI): On one side where country is fighting with COVID-19 pandemic, two priests were brutally murdered in Uttar Pradesh' Bulandshahr. The accused has been arrested by the police in an intoxicated state, and in half-naked condition outside the village, informed Bulandshahr SSP, Santosh Kumar Singh. "The accused has been arrested. As per initial probe, it has been found that few days back, he had taken away a belonging (chimta) of priests after which they had scolded him. Following which, he murdered two priests today. Probe is underway," said Singh.

Equity indices subdued in choppy session, IndusInd Bank up 8 pc

New Delhi, Arp 28 (ANI): Equity benchmark indices were subdued during early hours on Tuesday as Asian shares dipped into the red with a renewed decline in crude oil prices. At 10:15 am, the BSE S-P Sensex was down by 12 points at 31,731 while the Nifty 50 edged lower by 11 points at 9,271. Sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were mixed with Nifty auto, FMCG, IT and pharma in the negative zone but private bank up by 1.77 per cent. Among stocks, IndusInd Bank gained by 8.4 per cent at Rs 441.55 per share, a day after it reported 77 per cent sequential decline in standalone net profit at Rs 302 crore during the quarter ended March. On a year-onyear basis, the dip was 16 per cent.
