He says, "Many went into quarantine voluntarily, many assessed risk on their own and contacted control rooms. Others volunteered to assist Health Department in their respective interventions." Auto, taxi drivers face hardship amid nationwide lockdown

Hyderabad (Telangana), Apr 18 (ANI): Auto rickshaw and drivers of cab provider companies like 'Ola' and 'Uber' are facing hardship due to nationwide lockdown. App-based cab driver in Hyderabad said, "It has become very difficult to manage our financial expenses. Our children are also suffering. We request the state and central government to help us." An auto driver from Delhi had no clue about his future. He said, "There is no proper food available, my all savings are also going to end, I am stuck here." The nation is under lockdown due to coronavirus till May 03.

New Delhi, Apr 18 (ANI): South Koreans nationals evacuated from India via special flight amid lockdown from New Delhi on April 18. South Korea's Embassy Minister, Jongho Choi said, "159 people including South Koreans nationals and their family members evacuated from India today." Embassy minister also thanked India for the co-operation. The Central government has announced nationwide lockdown due to coronavirus till May 03.

CM Kejriwal announces Rs 1 crore for kin of all employees who die while dealing with COVID-19 patients

New Delhi, Apr 18 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal informed that if any doctor, nurse, sanitation worker at hospital, lab technician contracts the infection and dies due to it, while dealing with the patients of COVID-19, then Delhi government will provide their families with a compensation of Rs 1 crore. "There are other people too who are looking after Corona patients like Police, Civil Defence volunteers, teachers. If anyone contracts corona dies due to it, while looking after Corona patients, then it will be extended to all such people. Their families will also be given Rs 1 crore," said CM Kejriwal.

COVID-19: Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury turns his office into control room to assist migrant workers

New Delhi, Apr 18 (ANI): Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury turned his office into control room to provide help to migrant workers amid the nationwide lockdown. "I am getting around 500 calls daily from the migrant workers. Sometimes people start crying over the phone as they are stranded with no food and shelter," said Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury to ANI. In order to provide them assistance, the Congress leader is reaching out to party leaders across the country and various chief ministers to help migrant labourers. The Central government has announced nationwide lockdown due to coronavirus till May 3.

There has been decrease in number of COVID-19 cases in Delhi: CM Kejriwal

New Delhi, Apr 18 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal said that 2274 samples were tested on April 18 out which 67 cases tested positive. "In last 2-3 days, the numbers of cases have gone down. I hope that the cases will go down even more in the coming days," he added.

More than 29% COVID-19 cases linked to Nizamuddin Markaz: Health Ministry

New Delhi, Apr 18 (ANI): The Health Ministry informed that 29.8% coronavirus cases are related to Nizamuddin Markaz. While addressing the daily health bulletin in the wake of coronavirus pandemic, Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal said, "Out of total 14,378 cases, 4291 (29.8%) cases are related to Nizamuddin Markaz cluster from single source and affected 23 states and Union Territories (UTs)." "84% cases in Tamil Nadu, 63% cases in Delhi, 79% cases in Telangana, 59% cases in Uttar Pradesh and 61% in Andhra Pradesh are related to the event," Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal further said.

No fresh cases in 45 districts in last 14 days: Health Ministry

New Delhi, Apr 18(ANI): Health Ministry Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal said, "A positive trend has been noted in 47 districts across 23 states." He further informed that no positive cases have been reported in the last 28 days in Mahe of Puducherry, and Kodagu of Karnataka. "In 45 other districts, no new positive cases have been reported in last 14 days," said Lav Agarwal.

3 Asha workers allegedly manhandled in Indore during COVID-19 survey

20 Indian Navy personnel shifted to hospital after testing positive of COVID-19

Panaji (Goa), Apr 18 (ANI): At least 20 Indian Navy personnel tested COVID-19 positive at INS Angre in Mumbai. Minister of State for Defence, Shripad Naik informed, "20 COVID-19 positive cases have emerged from INS Angre depot in Colaba, where 130 people were kept under quarantine. Patients have been shifted to the Indian Navy's hospital and are being treated. Others have been quarantined."

Jaipur (Rajasthan), April 18 (ANI): Interacting with the media through video conference Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot said "Industrial units will operate from April 20 under the modified lockdown and migrant labourers, who are still staying here, will start getting work." He said that on the basis of report prepared by the committee constituted under the chairmanship of his economic advisor Arvind Mayaram, government will take appropriate steps towards improving the economic situation. Slowly the economy of the state will start coming back on track. Home Ministry waves off over stay penalty for foreigners stuck in India due to COVID-19

New Delhi, Apr 18 (ANI): Home Ministry Joint Secretary Punya Salila Srivastava informed that the ministry has decided to extend the validity of the visas of the foreigners, who are stuck in India due to COVID-19 outbreak. The extension will be granted till May 3, 2020. The Joint Secretary said, "Foreigners will not be charged for extension and they need not to pay anything extra for their stay."

New Delhi, Apr 18 (ANI): Additional Chief Secretary of Home Department Awanish K Awasthi said, "Several districts are becoming Corona free- Pilibhit, Maharajganj, Hathras. Now Shahjahanpur is also on the verge to become Corona free. Bareilly and Prayagraj have also become Corona free." He further said that CM has announced that Rs 1000 will be given to destitute people. "Those who were left out, in urban and rural areas, will also be identified and given Rs 1000. 10 COVID-19 patients discharged after recovery from Chennai's hospital

Chennai, Apr 18 (ANI): On April 18, around 10 COVID-19 patients were discharged from Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital in Chennai after getting recovered. "13 were discharged earlier, out of which 5 are interested in plasma donation, 4 are not fit, while we are motivating the rest," said Vasanthamani, Dean, Government Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital (GKMC).
