Chennai, Mar 14 (ANI): Amid growing fear of dreadful coronavirus in the country, school students organised a massive awareness program at their school playground. They used almost 25,000 soaps at a mammoth area of 10,000 sq ft to make text 'Wash Hand, Live Long'. Students also held placards with useful instructions. They also demonstrated hand wash as part of the awareness program. So far, 83 positive cases of coronavirus have been registered in India. The World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared COVID-19 a 'pandemic'.
New Delhi, Mar 14 (ANI): In view of growing cases of coronavirus in India, tourist visas have been suspended to which Prahlad Singh Patel said that foreign tourist footfall will decrease but foremost priority is to follow the Health Ministry's instructions. While speaking to ANI, Patel said, "We need to understand that Health Ministry is the nodal department to take call for COVID-19. We are following their instructions. As tourist visas have been suspended, foreign tourist footfall will decrease. But we will assess all these things once the situation become normal. Our foremost priority is to follow the instructions of the Health Ministry and take precautions against coronavirus. It would be good if we take care of us during this time."
Mumbai, Mar 14 (ANI): At least three people died after a speeding car rammed into a divider in Mumbai's Worli. One person received injuries area in the incident. Police said, "The woman who was driving the car has been admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital and she is serious. Further investigation is underway."
Ranchi (Jharkhand), Mar 14 (ANI): Shahzada Anwar has filed his nomination as Congress candidate for Rajya Sabha from Jharkhand. New Delhi, Mar 14 (ANI): Among adults at high risk of liver cancer, those who took low-dose aspirin were less likely to develop the disease or to die from liver-related causes. The findings come from an analysis published in the New England Journal of Medicine and conducted by a team led by investigators at the Karolinska Institutet, in Sweden, and Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH). For the analysis, investigators examined information from Swedish registries on 50,275 adults who had chronic viral hepatitis, a type of liver infection that is caused by the hepatitis B or C virus and is the most common risk factor for liver cancer. Over a median follow-up of nearly 8 years, 4.0% of patients who took low-dose aspirin (less than 163mg/day) and 8.3% of nonusers of aspirin developed liver cancer. Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Mar 14 (ANI): After Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Jyotiraditya Scindia was shown black flag in Bhopal, Former Madhya Pradesh chief minister and BJP leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the law and order situation has completely collapsed in state. New Delhi, Mar 14 (ANI): Formula E organising body has officially announced that the motor sport's 2019/20 season has been temporarily suspended in light of the current COVID-19 pandemic concerns.The season has been suspended for a two-month period. On the official website, the body explained that it is implementing a flag system to determine phases and times windows for the races. As of now, March and April are marked with red flags with no races to be hosted as previously planned while May is categorised with a yellow flag - keeping the opportunity open. June and July are given the green flag - indicative of going ahead as planned.

Lav Agarwal, Joint Secretary, Health Ministry said, "If masks are sold at exorbitant prices then States can take action as per law. If need be we will take drastic action on abnormal increase in price of masks."

New Delhi, Mar 13(ANI): Rubina Ali, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Civil Aviation informed that Air India flight would be taking off to Milan (Italy) to bring back Indians stranded there. The flight would take off tomorrow afternoon and would be landing on Sunday morning at Delhi Airport. Dammu Ravi, MEA also updated that around 220 students are in and around Milan and bringing them back is top priority. "If any other students are left behind they can contact our missions, and we will see what next we can do," he further said.

Chandigarh, Mar 13 (ANI): Congress leader Deepender Singh Hooda filed nomination for Rajya Sabha seat. Deepender Hooda's father and former chief minister of the state Bhupinder Singh Hooda was also present there. Deepender had been a three-time MP from Rohtak. In 2014, the Congress could manage to retain only the Rohtak seat, losing all other nine Lok Sabha seats from Haryana. Biennial elections for 55 Rajya Sabha seats will take place on March 26.
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Mar 13 (ANI): Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath on Friday announced that all schools, colleges, technical and vocational education institutes will remain closed till March 22 to prevent spread of deadly coronavirus. Adding to it, he further said, the state government will review the situation on March 22 and will take a decision whether to extend it or not. "The ongoing examinations will continue but the examinations which have not commenced yet have been postponed," he further added. 11 people have tested positive for coronavirus in Uttar Pradesh.
New Delhi, Mar 13 (ANI): Government issued orders to revoke detention of former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Farooq Abdullah. The leader was put under house arrest, a day before the Centre moved a motion in the parliament to scrap Jammu and Kashmir's special status under Article 370 of Indian Constitution. In September, Abdullah was charged under the Public Safety Act (PSA). Principal Secretary of Jammu and Kashmir, Rohit Kansal tweeted the official letter of the revocation.

Adding to it, he further said, the people do not need to fear as no case of COVID-19 has been reported in the state. "We have issued advisories to all hotels for foreign tourists. All schools have been closed until March 31. Do not fear as no case of Coronavirus has been reported here," said CM Rawat on global pandemic.
