Shiv Sena workers protest against Shivaji statue's removal in Madhya Pradesh

Chhindwara (Madhya Pradesh), Feb 12 (ANI): The workers of Shiv Sena and other organisations blocked Chhindwara-Nagpur Highway on February 11. They were protesting against removal of a statue of Chhatrapati Shivaji by Madhya Pradesh Government in Chhindwara. Probe is underway in the matter. While speaking to ANI, the ADM of Chhindwara Rajesh Shahi said, "The statue was placed at the site without permission and probe is underway in this regard."

Mumbai, Feb 12 (ANI): Bollywood actor Siddhant Chaturvedi had shut down Ananya Panday's comments on nepotism in an interview. Siddhant's savage reply to Ananya made instant meme-material and sparked controversies. While speaking to ANI, Siddhant said, "It was not a controversy at all. We often meet. It was really friendly and the thing with memes was people on internet are really free so they made meme out of it. It was nothing and even we are having fun after it. It has become a joke between us. It was a matter of laugh and nothing was serious in it. I just said what I felt about nepotism. It was not an attack on anybody. I just wanted to tell the reality. It was just a simple and everyone made it a complicated issue. So, it's nothing like that, we both are very good friends."

Jammu, Feb 12 (ANI): While addressing a press conference in Jammu on February 12, the Jammu and Kashmir Congress leader GM Saroori said, "I was summoned by NIA (National Investigating Agency) on February 10. I don't know why I was summoned." "In Kishtwar, there is a militant Jahangir Mohd Amin Bhat, he has changed his name to Jahangir Saroori. I don't have any connection with him," he added. Nature lovers get bird watching training program in Srinagar

Srinagar (JandK), Feb 12 (ANI): Nature lovers in Sringar have got the opportunity to witness world of birds up close. Bird watching training programme was organised in Srinagar's Dachigam National Park on February 11. Birds play important role in wildlife, nature and overall biodiversity. The training program was organized by Wular Conservation and Management Authority (WUCMA) and funded by Ministry of Environment and Forests in collaboration with directorate of ecology. During the 20-days long training programme participants from different parts of the valley attend both theory and practical classes where they gain experience from experts. A short documentary film regarding the overall wild life was also screened during the training programme.

Equity indices gain ground, metal stocks shine

New Delhi, Feb 12 (ANI): Equity benchmark gauges held firm during early hours on Wednesday led by a rally in metal and FMCG stocks amid positive global cues. At 10:15 am, the BSE SandP Sensex edged higher by 405 points or nearly 1 per cent to 41,621 while the Nifty 50 was up by 108 points at 12,216. Most sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the positive terrain with Nifty metal and FMCG up by 1.2 per cent each, financial service by 0.9 per cent and auto by 0.5 per cent. Among stocks, Vedanta gained by 1.9 per cent at Rs 143.50 per share while Tata Steel moved up by 1.7 per cent, and JSW Steel by 1.3 per cent. FMCG major Hindustan Lever advanced by over 3 per cent at Rs 2,221.10 per share as Nestle India added gains of 1.2 per cent. The other prominent gainers were Grasim, NTPC, Power Grid Corporation, HDFC and Axis Bank.
