Mortal remains of Rajiv Singh brought to Poonch

Poonch (J-K), Feb 09 (ANI): Mortal remains of Indian Army jawan Rajiv Singh reached at Poonch hospital on February 09. He lost his life in Degwar sector during ceasefire violation by Pakistan. Pakistan violated ceasefire by firing mortar shells along Line of Control (LoC) on February 08. The ceasefire occurred in Degwar sector of Poonch district in J-K.

Baur reservoir in Uttarkhand a new eco-tourism destination

Udham Singh Nagar (Uttarakhand), Feb 09 (ANI): Uttarakhand Government declared Baur reservoir a tourism center. Tourists influx has started to witness beautiful destination. Minister for Sports and Youth Welfare, Arvind Pandey said, "The state government has declared the Baur and Haripura reservoirs as tourism centers under the '13 district 13 destination 'program. Now many types of works including beautification, hotels, restaurants, boat houses, motor boats are being started soon. This will also provide employment opportunities to the people here." The Baur reservoir has an area of 1626 hectares and a length of 9.5 km. It consists of the main rivers Baur and Kakrala from the hilly region. A direct gypsy service will be started from Corbett to the Baur reservoir will also be added.

Murals painted with names of govt schemes ahead of MP CM's visit in Sagar

Sagar (Madhya Pradesh), Feb 09 (ANI): Murals were painted on the walls of Police Training Center ground by a citizen's group in Madhya Pradesh's Sagar. It was painted by 'Hum Hain Insaan' citizen group on walls with names of government schemes by the city administration within 24 hours ahead of Chief Minister Kamal Nath's visit to the city on the occasion of Ravi Das Jayanti. While speaking to ANI, the Municipal Commissioner of Sagar, RP Ahirwar said, "It is our duty and responsibility to advertise the government schemes. Police Training Center ground belongs to the government."

Coronavirus: DGCA restricts entry of foreigners who visited China post Jan 14

Gaya (Bihar)/New Delhi, Feb 09 (ANI): Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) announced that foreigners who have been to China on or after Jan 15, 2020, are not allowed to enter India from any air, land or seaport including Indo-Nepal, Indo-Bhutan, Indo-Bangladesh or Indo-Myanmar land borders. Three positive cases of coronavirus have emerged in Kerala. A suspected cornavirus case has been reported in Bihar's Gaya. A man who returned from China a month back has been admitted at isolation ward of government hospital. Hospital official said, "He has cold and cough, so we took precautionary measure. His blood and throat samples have been sent for examination."

Major develops bulletproof helmet which can withstand AK-47 bullets

Lucknow (UP), Feb 09 (ANI): Indian Army Major Anoop Mishra developed bulletproof helmet that can withstand force of even AK-47 bullets. The helmet can give protection from AK-47 bullet fired from a range of 10 meters. He has also developed a full body bullet proof jacket for protection from sniper rifle bullets. Helmet has been named 'Abhedya-1'. Major Anoop Mishra also showcased the indigenous 'Parth' gunshot locator device jointly developed by an Army institute and a private firm, which was on display at the annual DefExpo event in Lucknow. 'Parth' can locate exact location of a bullet from a distance of 400m and will help to locate and neutralize terrorist faster. It costs around Rs 3 lakh and if inducted, would replace a similar imported item which costs around Rs 65 lakh.

26 cases of coronavirus confirmed in Hong Kong, 17 in Taiwan

New Delhi, Feb 09 (ANI): Local authorities informed that the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macao have confirmed 26 and 10 cases of the deadly coronavirus, respectively, while Taiwan has reported 17 cases. 2019-nCoV - a deadly virus that traces its origin in the local seafood market of Wuhan, capital of the Hubei province in central China has killed 811 people, surpassing the death toll from the SARS epidemic of 2002-3. Viral pneumonia caused by the highly contagious and life-threatening virus started in the middle of December and has spread to nearly 23 countries across the globe, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, India, and the United States. Meanwhile, 31 provinces in the mainland, including Xinjiang in northwest China have reported 2,656 new cases of viral infections, including 2,147 cases in Hubei province. Criminal carrying bounty of Rs 10,000 held in Lucknow
