Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh), Dec 11 (ANI): A stepfather allegedly killed his 4-year-old daughter in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj on December 10. He killed his daughter after she asked for a balloon from him. While speaking to ANI, the Additional Superintendent of Police (SP) in Prayagraj, Brijesh Kumar Srivastava said, "By the time police reached the spot, the girl was dead and the accused was injured." "Murder case has been registered against the accused and he has been detained," he added.
Busan (South Korea)/ London (UK), Dec 11 (ANI): A large number of Baloch and Sindhis, who are living in exile in various parts of the world, held anti-Pakistan protests on December 10 to mark the Human Rights Day. In London, the Sindhi Baloch Forum organised a demonstration at 10 Downing Street to make the international community aware of deteriorating human rights situation in parts of Pakistan. They were carrying placards that read "Stop genocide of Baloch Nation" and "Stop Human Rights violations in Sindh and Balochistan". They also shouted pro-freedom slogans. Gurugram (Haryana), Dec 11 (ANI): Two Iranian nationals were arrested for allegedly posing as police officials in Haryana's Gurugram. They robbed money from two Turkmenistani nationals in Gurugram. The incident took place outside Fortis Hospital on November 26. They have been arrested from Delhi's Lajpat Nagar area. While speaking to media, the Assistant Commissioner of Police Crime-I (ACP), Preet Pal said, "The victims were here for medical treatment, incident occurred on November 26."
New Delhi, Dec 11 (ANI): You no longer have to forward multiple emails with Gmail's latest update that lets you send email as an attachment. As the official blog notes, users will be able to attach emails to other emails in Gmail without having to download them first. To insert emails in a new thread, simply drag and drop them into the draft window. You can also insert emails by selecting the emails and then 'Forward as attachment' from the overflow menu. The feature is being rolled out gradually and users will know the availability when they see the forward as attachment option.
Puducherry, Dec 11 (ANI): Several devotees lit up earthen lamps (diyas) on the occasion of 'Karthigai Deepam' in Puducherry on December 10. Bengaluru, Dec 11 (ANI): Life-size mannequins dressed as traffic police have been placed at important junctions in Bengaluru. There is a very positive response to this unique initiative of traffic police. This initiative is helpful in controlling traffic as well as habitual violators. While speaking to ANI, the Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) in Bengaluru city, Dr BR Ravikanthe Gowda said, "Response to this initiative is very positive. People also take selfies with the mannequins. It's useful in controlling habitual violators." "In future, we plan to fit cameras in these mannequins to record violations. Contact-less enforcement can be possible with these," he added.
New Delhi, Dec 11 (ANI): While giving birth to a baby comes with a number of consequences and difficulties for the mother and child, a new study found that water births are no more risky than land births and that women in the water group sustain fewer first and second-degree tears. University of Michigan researchers analyzed 397 waterbirths and 2025 land births from two midwifery practices. There were no differences in outcomes between waterbirth and land birth for neonatal intensive care admissions, and postpartum haemorrhage rates were similar for both groups. The results of the study were published in the journal Birth. Professional organizations tend to agree that women in labour should have access to water for comfort, but not all support birth in the water. New Delhi, Dec 10 (ANI): Giving more heat to the protests against period drama 'Panipat' over alleged wrong portrayal of Maharaja Surajmal in the movie, Lok Sabha MP from Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) Hanuman Beniwal tore the poster of the film in Parliament premises on Tuesday (December 10). Beniwal is one of the two MPs who have demanded a ban on the film, claiming the movie shows Maharaja Surajmal in poor light. A section of people from the Jat community in Rajasthan is protesting against the movie for "wrong portrayal" of Maharaja Surajmal in the film. Lahore, Pakistan, December 10, 2019: - Students from Gilgit Baltistan and PoK joined a student protest in Lahore to demand immediate release of political activists, including Baba Jan and his accomplices, who have been incarcerating in jail for around nine years. Baba Jan is serving a ninety-year sentence he was handed based on trumped-up charges. He is one such activist who challenged the then Pakistani administration which was essentially working against the people of Gilgit Baltistan.
Lucknow (UP), Dec 10 (ANI): After attending a review meeting on enhancing security for women safety in wake of increasing instances of crimes, Uttar Pradesh's DIG (Law and Order) Vijay Bhushan on December 10 informed about the decisions which were taken in the meeting. He said that to enhance the efficiency of the police against crimes against women, it is being decided that about 300 voice logger, 4 in each district will be installed, anti-romeo squads formed for security of the women. Not only that, the administration is also going to provide 25,000 body-worn camera to traffic management officials and 5,000 mobile tablets and 1,500 desktops will be made available to increase efficiency.

New Delhi, Dec 10 (ANI): Equity benchmark indices ended substantially lower on Tuesday due to profit booking by traders amid dismal macro-economic indicators. The BSE S and P Sensex closed 248 points lower at 40,240 while the Nifty 50 was down by 81 points at 11,857. All sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the red with Nifty PSU bank dropping by 1.6 per cent, IT and metal by 1.4 per cent each and FMCG by 1 per cent. Joseph Thomas, Head of Research at Emkay Wealth Management, said the low GDP growth rate may be prompting investors to wait for a little more while till they see the green shoots. Among stocks, Yes Bank tumbled by 10.4 per cent to close at Rs 50.40 per share ahead of a crucial board meeting to decide on investment offers. Reports suggest that the board will reject the offers from SPGP Holdings and controversial Canadian businessman Erwin Singh Braich. Rakesh Jhunjhunwala may also be out of contention. Zee Entertainment dropped by 5.1 per cent, GAIL by 4.

Mahendragarh (Haryana), Dec 10 (ANI): The family members of a Merchant Navy officer Jai Singh, who was kidnapped by Nigerian pirates, are hopeful that he will return to home very soon. On December 4, the ship was reportedly hijacked by pirates near the western coast of Nigeria. Along with Merchant Navy officer 18 Indians were also kidnapped by the pirates. They are destroying our Indian cultures," said Bhopal's Digamber Jain society president, Promod Jain Himanshu. "Pre-wedding photoshoot trend is not good. We have decided to ban this and soon we will have meeting with our others members regarding this matter," Bhopal's Sindhi society president, Bhagwan Dev Israni told ANI.
