Gadag (Karnataka), Nov 01 (ANI): A police constable, Seema Shivanagowdara, allegedly committed suicide in Karnataka's Gadag. She allegedly hanged hanging herself at her residence early morning on November 01. Reason behind the incident is still unknown. Police has reached the spot and investigation is underway.
Madurai (Tamil Nadu), Nov 01 (ANI): The officials of Food Department conducted raids at general provision stores in Tamil Nadu's Madurai on October 31. The raid took place in K Pudur area of Madurai. Various samples of edible oil were found to be adulterated during the raid. While speaking to ANI, the Food Department official said, "Most samples of edible oil found to be adulterated and warning has been issued to the shopkeepers."
Gadag (Karnataka), Nov 01 (ANI): People of Karnataka celebrated state formation day in Gadag. Environment Minister of Karnataka, CC Patil paid tribute to national flag on the occasion. Tableau on women empowerment, agriculture and faith showcased the state's vision. Karnataka Rajyotsava or Kannada Day, also known as Karnataka Formation Day, is celebrated on November 01 every year. This was the day in 1956 when all the Kannada language-speaking regions of South India were merged to form the state of Karnataka.
Chennai, Nov 01 (ANI): Tamil Nadu doctors temporarily withdrew their indefinite strike on November 01. They were on strike for past 7 days. General Secretary of Doctors' Association for Social Equality, Dr GR Ravindranath said, "Federation of Government Doctors' Association has temporarily withdrawn strikes. I request government to call them for talks try to accept their demands as most of them are related to welfare of people."

Hyderabad, Nov 01 (ANI): A man allegedly gave triple talaq to his wife for dowry in Hyderabad. The victim has alleged that her husband and in-laws demanded dowry and in the lieu harassed her. Begum married Mustafa on June 27, 2019. On October 30, a case was registered against the accused under section 498 A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), Dowry Act and Triple Talaq Act. Further investigation is underway.

While addressing the public gathering, Arvind Kejriwal said, "Pollution level has deteriorated in Delhi due to smoke from stubble burning in adjoining states, whose number has doubled this year." "People are facing difficulty in breathing and to provide relief, we are distributing two masks to each student in private and government schools," he added. To curb air pollution, the Arvind Kejriwal led-government in Delhi has announced the implementation of the odd-even scheme from November 04-November 15.

New Delhi, Nov 01 (ANI): The air quality of national capital took a hit after Diwali night due to a combination of firecracker emissions, stubble burning and unfavourable meteorological conditions. According to the Air Quality Index (AQI) data and System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), major pollutants in Delhi's Lodhi Road area were PM 2.5 at 500 and PM 10 at 500 both in 'severe' category. The higher value of AQI indicates greater level of air pollution and health concern. Delhi residents have complained of a spike in respiratory problems and allergies. The stubble burning in Punjab and Haryana makes the situation in Delhi more worse. To curb air pollution, the Arvind Kejriwal led-government in Delhi has announced the implementation of the odd-even scheme from November 04-November 15.

In a series of official tweets, CEO Jack Dorsey wrote that political reach should be earned not bought, stressing on how purchasing the reach can be used to influence votes, affecting the lives of millions. He wrote that Twitter will stop candidate ads as well as issue ads which can also be purchased by candidates. The final policy will be announced by November 11 and it will be enforced globally on November 22, 2019.

Siliguri (WB), Nov 1 (ANI): Authorities in Siliguri have prepared artificial ghats for devotees observing the four-day Chhath Puja. After the National Green Tribunal imposed a ban on performing rituals in the river, the artificial ghats are constructed at Gandhi Maidan under ward number eight of Siliguri Municipal Corporation (SMC). Organisers along with the support of local residents have prepared 130 Chhath Ghats in 2019. "The concept of artificial ghats which was first designed by our committee in India is being practised this year as well. We have made ghats at Gandhi Maidan to give devotees a natural river-like atmosphere," said the organiser Khusboo Mittal. The auspicious festival, which started on October 31 is celebrated with huge fervour in the states of West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Delhi.

They consumed chocolates in school and were admitted to Ramakrishna Hospital. All the 15 students are from the fifth standard.
Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), Oct 31 (ANI): The trainee doctors at the government-run Coimbatore Medical College Hospital here on Thursday extended their support to the striking doctors who are demanding an increase in their salaries and post-graduate admission quota in medical education. The indefinite strike was started by the trainee doctors on Thursday. The demands of protesting doctors, including five who are on an indefinite fast, include increase in salaries, quota in post-graduate medical education and appointment of more doctors.

While speaking to media persons, Dada said, "We have spoken to Delhi authorities in last 2 days, they are expecting the match (India-Bangladesh 1st T20) to go through, we couldn't cancel it at last minute. Post Diwali is a difficult time in the North because winter comes in and lot of smoke and dust." "In the future when we schedule, especially in Northern part of India in the winter we will have to be a little more practical. I have spoken to the grounds man he says once the sun comes out, it will be fine," he added.
