Chandigarh, Oct 26 (ANI): Manohar Lal Khattar is likely to take oath as Chief Minister of Haryana for the second term on October 27 after he was elected as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) legislative party leader in the state. Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), Oct 26 (ANI): A three-day exhibition and sale of the patented products of the rural producers from the different corners of Himachal Pradesh has drawn the attention of tourists and locals in Shimla. All these products are geographical indicators (GI). Young producers, farmers and artists have joined hands to preserve and promote these GI products in the state. The Exhibition-cum-sale has been organised by Himachal Pradesh State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (HIMCOSTE). Each stall displays at least 7 GI products. These patented products include Kangra Tea, Chamba Rumal, Kullu Shawl, Kala Jeera, Kinnauri Shawl, Kinnaur Chulli Oil (Apricot oil) and Kangra painting. The organizers say that the objective is to introduce the patented products to the people and also to introduce and market the products by providing platform to the rural producers. Starting on October 23, the exhibition concluded on October 25.
Shivamogga (Karnataka), Oct 26 (ANI): Members of Vidyarthi Sanghatane staged a protest condemning the poor condition of roads in Shivamogga. To attract the attention of the state government, the protesters planted saplings in potholes filled with rainwater. The roads in Durgigudi, Park Extension, Tilak Nagar, and Gandhi Nagar localities had developed potholes and craters due to heavy rains. The roads in many areas of the city are in a dilapidated condition, resulting in many mishaps on these stretches. The protesters demanded immediate repair work of the roads.

New Delhi, Oct 26 (ANI):: Risk of lung cancer can be reduced by consuming a diet which is high in fibre and yogurt, says a study. The benefits of a diet high in fibre and yogurt have already been established for cardiovascular disease and gastrointestinal cancer. The new findings based on an analysis of data from studies involving 1.4 million adults in the United States, Europe, and Asia suggest this diet may also protect against lung cancer. Participants were divided into five groups, according to the amount of fibre and yogurt they consumed. Those with the highest yogurt and fibre consumption had a 33 per cent reduced lung cancer risk as compared to the group who did not consume yogurt and consumed the least amount of fibre. Shu said the health benefits may be rooted in their prebiotic (nondigestible food that promotes growth of beneficial microorganisms in the intestines) and probiotic properties. Agartala (Tripura), Oct 26 (ANI): Border Security Force (BSF), stationed along the India-Bangladesh border at Akhaura integrated check post distributed sweets among soldiers of Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) as a goodwill gesture ahead of Diwali. The gesture was equally reciprocated by BGB officials and guards. The exchange of sweets between India and Bangladesh along the border is a traditional practice aimed at improving bilateral relations. People were so excited to saw 'Shooter Dadis' that they havn't lost the chance to have selfies with them. The film is based on the life of Chandro Tomar and Prakashi Tomar, grandmothers from Baghpat. Popularly known as 'Shooter Dadi', Chandro Tomar also gave message to girls. She learnt the art of shooting at the age of 60 years and went on to become one of the best shooters of the country.
