New Delhi, Oct 13 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended the 'Shabad Anahad Kirtan' programme in the national capital on October 12. The programme was organised by Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) in Delhi. The event took place at India Gate lawn. President of DSGMC Manjinder Singh Sirsa was also present on the occasion. Large number of people marked their presence to attend several cultural event at the 'Shabad Anahad Kirtan' programme.
Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh), Oct 12 (ANI): Police recovered body of a minor from a drain. Police were looking for two brothers who were missing from UP's Shahpur since September 27. Gorakhpur SP, Kaustubh said, "Police was looking for two missing brothers. During the search, police found body of a 7-8 years old boy from the drain which was in disintegrated condition."
Moroni (Comoros), Oct 12 (ANI): Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on October 12 emplaned for Sierra Leone's Free Town from Moroni. Comoros President Azali Assoumani came to the airport to see off VP Naidu. Comoros was Naidu's first ever high-level visit. VP Naidu is on a five-day-visit to Comoros and Sierra Leone. The Vice President's visit to African continent aims to intensify India's bilateral ties. VP Naidu is accompanied by a high-level delegation and other government officials.
Amritsar (Punjab), Oct 12 (ANI): Farmers in Punjab started burning the residue after harvesting paddy in the autumn to clear the fields as they don't have any other option. A farmer from Punjab's Amritsar said, "Punjab government does not give them any option by which they can clear the agricultural crop residues." Every year between October and November, air quality deteriorates in Delhi and its neighbouring states, as farmers burn the residue after harvesting paddy to clear the fields and make way for the sowing of wheat, despite there being a ban on burning agricultural residue.The National Green Tribunal in the order passed on (10.12.2015), directed and prohibited agricultural residue burning in any part of the NCT of Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.
Junagadh (Gujarat), Oct 12 (ANI): Case has been registered against two women and a juvenile girl, who were seen in the video holding snakes on hands while performing Garba in Junagadh. Two more persons have been booked by the police in connection with the case. The case has been book under Wildlife (Protection) Act. According to Sunil Berwal, Deputy Conservator of Forest (Wildlife), Junagarh,"Case has been registered against 5 persons in connection with a viral video in which young girls were seen performing Garba holding cobras at an event on Oct 06. 5 accused, including a 12-yr-old girl, produced in court". The video gone viral on social media shows two women and a juvenile girl holding snakes while performing Garba during Navratri festival.
Jammu, Oct 12 (ANI): The wreath laying ceremony of slain soldier Naik Subhash Thapa took place in Jammu on October 12. Srinagar (J-K), Oct 12 (ANI): Six to seven people got injured in grenade attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar on October 12. "It seems there is a grenade throwing incident, we are investigating. Nobody is seriously injured," said CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force) Inspector General, Ravideep Sahai. However, search operation is underway.

New Delhi, Oct 12 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced that this year no relief would be extended to privately owned CNG vehicles under the odd-even scheme, though women would be exempted from the scheme. The odd-even scheme will come into effect in Delhi from November 04-15 as the government looks to measures to combat high-level of air pollution caused due to stubble burning in neighbouring states during winters.
Murshidabad (UP), Oct 12 (ANI): In the latest development on Murshidabad triple murder case, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) team reached victim's residence where the heinous murder took place. The CBI officials inspected the house and searched for clues during their investigation. However, the CID restricted didn't reveal anything related to the case. On October 08, a teacher, his pregnant wife and minor son were brutally killed at their residence at Murshidabad district. Police have also detained two people in connection with the murders.

Vadanemmeli (Tamil Nadu), Oct 12 (ANI): Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale held a press conference on Chinese President Xi Jinping's two-day visit to India. Briefing on President's Jinping visit, "The two leaders today had a conversation for almost 90 minutes, followed by delegation level talks and then lunch was hosted by PM Modi. A total of 6 hours of one to one meeting was held between the two leaders during this summit." He further added, "A new mechanism will be established to discuss trade, investment and services, at an elevated level. From China it will be the Vice Premier, Hu Chunhua and from India it will be FM Nirmala Sitharaman." Vijay Gokhale also announced that President Xi Jinping has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to China for the next summit. PM Modi has accepted the invitation. Dates haven't been decided for the summit.

Congress has fielded Kantilal Bhuria from Jhabua District. On the other side BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) put up Bhanu Bhuria. Scheduled to be held on 21 October, the bye-election to Jabhua (reserved under Scheduled Tribe category) has been necessitated by the resignation of MLA Guman Singh Damor from the BJP after he was elected to the Lok Sabha from Ratlam-Jhabua parliamentary seat. Kamal Nath also replied on his own party member's question over farmer loan. He said, "We will waive off Rs 50,000 in first installment. Next we will waive off upto Rs 2 lakh. I agree that it was a promise of Rs 2 lakh." Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia said on October 11 that the Kamal Nath government has not given loan waiver of the promised amount of Rs 2 lakh to the farmers in Madhya Pradesh.

New Delhi, Oct 12 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Saturday that the RTI Act was a big milestone in country's journey of democracy and has helped bridge the gap between the people and administration. Addressing the 14th annual convention of the Central Information Commission (CIC) here, Shah said the Right to Information Act has also instilled confidence among people. "I feel that in our democratic journey, RTI is a big milestone. We can provide good administration on the basis of transparency and accountability. RTI has helped a lot in giving a boost to transparency and accountability," Shah said. He said the RTI Act has helped to bridge the gap between the people and the administration in the last 14 years. "It has also increased the confidence of people towards administration," he said. Shah said that RTI Act has achieved its goals and instilled the confidence among the citizens.
Mamallapuram (Tamil Nadu), Oct 12 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi became a 'plogger' at Mamallapuram beach on Oct 12 morning .The 'plogging' session lasted for 30 minutes. He later handed over the 'collection' to a hotel staff where he is staying. 'Plogging' is a combination of jogging with picking up litter.
