PM Modi to visit Maharashtra from Oct 13 to 18: Smriti Irani

Mumbai, Oct 11 (ANI): Union Textiles Minister and BJP leader Smriti Irani on Friday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Maharashtra from October 13 to October 18 for upcoming Maharashtra Assembly polls. Bhaderwah (Jammu and Kashmir), Oct 11 (ANI): Lieutenant General Ranbir Singh, GOC-in-C, Northern Command said that terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir are facing shortage of weapon and they are pursuing different methods to acquire weapons. He said, "Terrorists are facing a shortage of weapons in Kashmir that is why they keep on trying to attack police stations to snatch weapons from officers. Pakistan is in a crisis and trying different ways to send weapons into J-K."

Murshidabad triple murder: Culprit could be someone close to family, suspect police

Murshidabad (WB), Oct 11 (ANI): State Armed Police CO Tanmoy Sarkar in West Bengal informed that the culprit in Murshidabad triple murder could be someone close to the family. "The man who was killed in Murshidabad triple murder case apparently borrowed some money from people. We also have a doubt that one or more people well known to their family may did this. They might have poisoned the food. A letter was also found and we think it is written by the wife and it will be checked but as per letter there was some problem between the man and his wife," he added. Meanwhile, residents have threatened to launch an agitation if no strict action is taken against the criminals involved in the murder of a family which is claimed to be a part of RSS. "No strict action has been taken till now, we demand the authorities to arrest the criminals as soon as possible," said a local. The sharp reaction comes a day after three members of a family were found lying in the pool of blood at their residence

Pakistan violates ceasefire in Rajouri's Nowshera sector

Rajouri (Jammu and Kashmir), Oct 11 (ANI): Pakistan violated ceasefire in Nowshera sector of J-K's Rajouri on October 11. One jawan has sustained injuries who has been shifted to the hospital. Chinese President Xi Jinping arrives in Chennai for 2nd Informal Summit with PM Modi

Ranbaxy's former promoters produced in Saket Court

New Delhi, Oct 11 (ANI): Ranbaxy's former promoters Malvinder Singh, Shivinder Singh and three others - Sunil Godhwani, Kavi Arora and Anil Saxena were arrested and later taken to Saket Court. Delhi High Court reserved its order on the maintainability of the plea filed by Ranbaxy's former promoters Malvinder Singh, seeking quashing of FIR registered by Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Delhi police saying it lacks jurisdiction to register FIR. Economic Offences Wing of Delhi Police detained Ranbaxy's former promoter Malvinder Singh from Ludhiana on October 10 after a complaint given by Religare Enterprises Limited. 4 others were also arrested in the case. Religare has accused them of diverting funds and misappropriation.

CM Nitish Kumar pays tribute to socialist Jayaprakash Narayan on his birth anniversary

Patna (Bihar), Oct 11 (ANI): Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Oct 11 paid tribute to freedom fighter and social reformer Jayaprakash Narayan on his birth anniversary. Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Governor Phagu Chauhan and other leaders also paid tribute to the leader. Narayan, an Indian independence activist and socialist, was born in Sitabdiara village of Bihar's Saran district in 1902. In 1999, he was posthumously accorded with Bharat Ratna for the social work. This is the first time Nitish Kumar and Sushil Modi made a public appearance after the latter skipped the Dussehra event fuelling speculations of a rift between the two alliance partners.
