'Kullu Dussehra' begins in Himachal Pradesh with great pomp and show

Kullu (Himachal Pradesh), Oct 09 (ANI): The week long 'Kullu Dussehra' celebrations began with great fervour in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu on October 08. A procession of Lord Raghunath on chariot was taken out from Sultanpur to Dhalpur ground. Hundreds of people participated in the festivity and were seen wearing traditional attire. Himachal Pradesh Governor Bandaru Dattatreya also participated in the procession. Kullu Dussehra will conclude on October 14.

Before final settlement of boundary question, need to jointly maintain peace in border areas: Chinese Envoy

New Delhi, Oct 09 (ANI): On border area question, Chinese envoy to India said that India and China need to maintain peace and tranquility along the boundary before the final settlement of the issue. Navratri celebrations conclude at Kanaka Durga temple with boat ride in Vijayawada

Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh), Oct 09 (ANI): Marking an end to Dussehra celebrations, idols of Goddess Kanakadurga and Lord Malleswara were taken on the boat in river Krishna here in the evening. Thousands of devotees gathered on the banks of river Krishna to take a glimpse of the God and Goddess. The boat was decorated with colorful lights. During the Navratri period, the Goddess is decorated in nine different attires each day. On the tenth day of 'Vijayadashmi' after 'Purnahuti, the 10-day-long celebrations are concluded. In the evening, Goddess Kanaka Durga and Lord Malleswara were shifted on to the 'Hamsa Vahana' amid Vedic chants and traditional music.

BS VI fuel will be available in country from April 1 next year: Javadekar

Jaipur (Rajasthan), Oct 08 (ANI): Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday said that the Bharat Stage (BS) VI fuel will be made available in the country from April 1 next year. "The BS-VI fuel will be made available from April 1 in the country. The BS-VI compliant vehicles will also be made available from next year. This initiative will reduce pollution in the air by 80-90 per cent," Javadekar said while speaking to media. NMCG organizes 'Ganga Calling' expedition from Devprayag to Ganga Sagar

New Delhi, Oct 10, 2019 (ANI): Union Cabinet Minister of Ministry of Jal Shakti, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Monday announced that a month-long river rafting expedition between Devprayag in Uttarakhand to Ganga Sagar in West Bengal will be held between October 10 and November 12. A nine-member team of swimmers and rafters from the three Services of the armed forces, led by acclaimed international open-water swimmer Wing Commander Paramvir Singh will take part in the expedition.The team would be joined by three members from NDRF and two members each from Wildlife Institute of India and Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (CSIR- IITR), according to Jal Shakti ministry.
