Mumbai, Oct 07 (ANI): Congress and NCP released joint manifesto for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly elections on October 07. Prayagraj (UP), Oct 07 (ANI): With its unique traditions dating back to several centuries, the city of Prayagraj is immersed in religious fervour on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra. On Sunday night, the colourful 'Ram Dal' procession jointly organised by Katra and Colonelganj Ramlila Committee illuminated the streets of the city. The locals who flooded the streets to catch a glimpse of the procession, watched in awe as the actors enacted multiple scenes from Ramayana. "Our Ram Dal is famous across the country. Others start their Ramlila with the birth of Lord Rama, but here it starts with Ravana's Shobha Yatra. Ravan was related to Bharadwaj lineage and Katra was his maternal home," said Gopal Babu Jaiswal, Secretary of Katra Ramlila Committee. It also features instrumental music and colourful light show. Surat (Gujarat), Oct 07 (ANI): Various artisans across the country have started working relentlessly to prepare the tall effigies of Ravana that will be burnt on the occasion of Dussehra.In Surat city too, similar scenes can be observed but with sweetness of communal harmony, as here it's the Muslim artisans that have come from different cities of Uttar Pradesh to make the effigy for their Hindu brothers. From, designing the structure to the final painting of the effigy-parts, everything is done by them. Making these effigies require a lot of dexterity as one has to assemble the large parts together and plant the fire crackers inside them, but these artisans do every piece of work with immense devotion. New Delhi, Oct 07(ANI): With the arrest of two accused persons North East District Police of Delhi has solved a blind murder case. A PCR call was received at PS Karawal Nagar, regarding a dead body at ganda Nala near Karawal Nagar. Police reached at the spot and found a dead body of lady. Consequently, police registered a case and investigation was taken up. During the investigation, the deceased was identified namely Shabnam and through the call records and examination one person Naushad came out as a prime suspect. Thereafter, he was examined at length. He confessed that he committed crime as he wanted to get rid of her. Deceased and accused used to know each other since long and deceased was pressurizing him for marriage. Naushad brother-in law also involved in this crime. Both the accused have been arrested and vehicle used in crime was also recovered.

Alwar (Rajasthan), Oct 07 (ANI): Two men have been arrested for allegedly thrashing a Muslim couple at the Alwar bus stop. "The couple was waiting for their bus when the two men attacked them on Saturday night around 11:30 pm. One of the two also misbehaved with the woman, showing inappropriate gestures to her. The couple complained to us and we have arrested them," a police official told ANI on Sunday. The two accused have been identified as Surinder Mohan Bhatia (33) and Vansh Bhardwaj (23) - both resident of Alwar. An FIR has been registered in this regard and further investigation is underway.

New Delhi, Oct 07 (ANI): Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar advised people to not burst fire crackers this Diwali. "I will advise that don't burst fire crackers, and I am confident that children themselves will ask parents to not buy firecrackers, but if someone wants to then buy green fire crackers," said the Environment Minister. The Indian Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has developed green crackers, which are new and improved formulations of the previous sound-emitting crackers and other fireworks. The development of green crackers is aimed at reducing pollution and health risks.

New Delhi, Oct 07 (ANI): Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar said that BS6-compliant vehicles will significantly curb air pollution in Delhi. "BS6-compliant vehicles will be coming in Delhi in April 2020. BS6 petrol/diesel is already available in Delhi/NCR. It will lead to great reduction in air pollution from vehicles," said Minister Javadekar. "This will cost government 60,000 crore rupees," he aded.

New Delhi, Oct 07 (ANI): While speaking said that Supreme Court bench's direction on Aarey, petitioner's lawyer Sanjay Hegde said that status quo of SC will be maintained till next hearing. "Supreme Court orders that status quo should be maintained regarding felling of trees at Mumbai's Aarey Colony till the next hearing in the case for October 21," said Hegde.
