Odd- even scheme to be back from 4 to 15 Nov: CM Kejriwal

New Delhi, Sep 13 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced on Friday that odd- even vehicle scheme will be implemented from 4 to 15 November. While addressing a press conference in New Delhi on September 13, Arvind Kejriwal said that to curb pollution level in the state, they came out with seven action level. Which included odd and even vehicle scheme. "According to different studies on odd- even helped to decrease the pollution level by 10 to3 percent," CM further added.

Ganesh immersion incident: Orders for magisterial inquiry have been given, says CM Kamal Nath

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Sep 13 (ANI): At least 11 bodies were recovered while five people have been rescued in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal on September 13. The incident took place at Khatlapura Ghat in Bhopal after the boat they were in capsized during Lord Ganesh immersion. The search operation is underway. While speaking to ANI on 11 dead after boat capsized in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath said, "We have decided to increase the compensation for families of deceased to Rs 11 lakh. Orders for magisterial inquiry have been given."

Humans have individualised response to high-fat food: Study

New Delhi, Sep 13 (ANI): A recent study has found that people have very individualised responses called inflammatory response when it comes to digesting high-fat food. Inflammation is a group of responses by the body telling white blood cells how much to react. It is a normal reaction to eating a meal, especially ones with high amounts of fat. The study was published in the 'Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry'. Each volunteer in the study had both a unique amount of inflammatory response and a unique amount of time for when the responses peaked, up to 6 hours after eating (8 or more hours is considered fasting by nutritionists). The researchers used a very sensitive test to look at whether any genes in the human genome were turned off or on in order to define a volunteer's reactions. Responses by more than 13,000 genes differed between subjects. 'Memories' is Google Photos' new stories-style feature

New Delhi, Sep 13 (ANI): Google Photos app has been updated with a new feature that brings up your favourite photos in the popular social media-style stories format. Called Memories, the feature shows photos from your past which are presented privately, Engadget reports. To sort the best photos for this format, Google uses machine learning. British High Commission celebrates anniversary of repealing of Section 377 in Delhi

New Delhi, Sep 13 (ANI): A year since the Supreme Court overturned Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code, the LGBT community, which gathered for a celebration, said as far as equal rights for the group were concerned, there still remains a long way to go. The British High Commission marked one year of the landmark judgement with an event that celebrated the achievements of the community and aimed at showing the British mission's solidarity with the LGBT community in India. On September 6, 2018, the Supreme Court struck down the colonial-era Section 377 IPC which criminalised gay sex. A five-judge constitutional bench, headed by Chief Justice of India (CJI) Dipak Misra and comprising Justices DY Chandrachud, Rohinton Fali Nariman, AM Khanwilkar and Indu Malhotra, gave the verdict on a bunch of petitions filed to scrap the law.

Special squads visit schools to check bag weight in Bhubaneshwar

Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Sep 13 (ANI): The special squads of Khordha district administration on Thursday visited several schools to check the weight of school bags. Acting upon the Odisha High Court's directive, the district administration has formed special squads to monitor the implementation of Ministry of Human Resource Development's (MHRD) guidelines on the weight of school bags in all schools in Khordha district including the capital city of Bhubaneswar. The squad also checked if the schools are following the NCERT prescribed syllabus and books or not. The Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD) in October last year had directed all States and Union Territories to draw up guidelines for reducing the weight of schools bags. Balapur Ganesha laddu auctioned for Rs 17.6 lakh, record highest price

Hyderabad, Sep 13 (ANI): The annual auction of the famed Balapur laddu of Lord Ganesha, fetched a record high price of Rs 17.6 lakh in Hyderabad on September 12. The auction on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi was won by Kolam Ram Reddy, who won the auction. The open auction held near 'pandal' premises. The practice of auctioning the laddu, which is considered auspicious by locals, was started in the year 1994.

Malgudi railway station will soon be reality

Shivamogga (Karnataka), Sep 12 (ANI): Good news of the for the fans of iconic television series Malgudi Days, as the Arasalu railway station in Shivamogga district is all set to be renamed as Malgudi railway station. During the eighties and nineties, Malgudi Days was one of the favourite television series. Still now the soothing jingle created by L Vaidyanathan, echoes among people. In addition, a Malgudi Days museum is also being constructed near the present railway station, which was featured as Malgudi railway station in the series. The artists are leaving no stone unturned to bring the fictional station of Malgudi to life. The iconic television series was adapted from the collection of classic short stories written by Indian writer RK Narayan. 3 JeM terrorists arrested with truck carrying arms and ammunition in JandK's Kathua
