In Rohtak, PM Modi asks for 'more support' ahead of Haryana assembly polls

Rohtak (Haryana), Sep 08 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Haryana's Rohtak district for election rally. Chief Minister of Haryana Manohar Lal Khattar were also present in the public rally. State president Subhash Barala and several leaders were also present at a rally. PM Modi said, "This is the third time in the past few months that I am visiting Rohtak. This time I am here to ask for more support and Rohtak has always given me more than what I asked for." Assembly elections in Haryana will be held later this year.

FIR lodged against Ludhiana MLA after spat with Gurdaspur

Ludhiana (Punjab), Sep 09 (ANI): A verbal spat took place between Lok Insaaf Party MLA from Ludhiana, Simranjit Singh Bains and Gurdaspur Deputy Commissioner Vipul Ujjwal. An FIR has been lodged against the MLA for allegedly misbehaving with the Deputy Commissioner, based on a complaint filed by Batala SDM BR Singh. Bains has alleged that FIR is a part of larger conspiracy against him by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.

Patna (Bihar), Sep 08 (ANI): Minister of State (MoS) for Health and Family Welfare, Ashwini Choubey, on Sep 08 said former prime minister Morarji Desai used to consume cow urine as it "cures" various diseases. Choubey on Sep 07 had said that the Ayush Ministry is deliberating on using cow urine in medicines for curing cancer, asserting that the sacred animal's urine is in itself very powerful. Choubey further said that extensive research is needed to be conducted on the benefits of cow urine.

Cycle-rally organised under 'Fit India' movement in J-K's Udhampur

Wild tusker 'Maniyan' killed by herd of elephants in Kerala's Wayanad

Wayanad (Kerala), Sep 08 (ANI): Wayanad's famous wild tusker 'Maniyan' passed away on September 07. The 30-year-old was attacked by a herd of wild elephants near the Kurichedu forest. The carcass of the elephant was found at Pullumala forest range of Wayanad. 'Maniyan' was an extremely friendly tusker and he formed a tight bond with the villagers of Irulam in Wayanad. Villagers used to feed him bananas and other fruits whenever he visited them. 'Maniyan' succumbed to multiple injuries on his body including deep wounds at his forehead.

Heavy rainfall leads to flood-like situation in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli

Bakshi on Sep 08 said Pakistan is an "international migraine" for the rest of the world, and is a "pain" for each of its neighbours including India and Afghanistan. On National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval's statement that restrictions in Kashmir Valley could go if Pakistan "behaves", Bakshi said the former has made a compelling statement, and Pakistan had taken the warning of PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti seriously that bloodshed would follow if Article 370 is repealed, but that did not happen.

Goons loot Rs 1.38 lakh from bank in Rajasthan's Sikar

Sikar (Rajasthan), Sep 08 (ANI): A rural bank was looted in broad daylight on afternoon of September 07 in Rajasthan's Sikar. The incident took place in Sikar's Dadiya village and was captured in CCTV camera. Goons looted around Rs 1.38 lakh from the bank. According to the officials, the accused took the employees present at the bank and locked them in a room following which they carried out the crime. There was no security guard present at the bank due to which the accused did not face any resistance. Investigation is underway.

Veteran Lawyer Ram Jethmalani dies at 95 in Delhi

New Delhi, Sep 08 (ANI): One of India's finest lawyers and former union minister, Ram Jethmalani, died at his residence in Delhi on September 08. He was 95-years-old. He died early morning and had not been keeping well for the last few months. Jethmalani was a six-time Rajya Sabha member and served as a union minister in the United Front and NDA governments. The noted lawyer was involved in defending several high-profile cases of corruption and scams involving several top politicians, including RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal among others. He joined the BJP-led NDA ministry in 1998 and then again in October 1999. Jethmalani had also served as the chairman of the Bar Council of India.

Criminal carrying bounty of Rs 25, 000 arrested in UP's Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh), Sep 08 (ANI): An encounter broke out between police and criminals in Uttar Pradesh's Ghaziabad on September 07. A wanted criminal who suffered bullet injury was arrested. Pakistan could've earned brownie points by letting Prez Kovind's plane to overfly: Defence Expert

New Delhi, Sep 08 (ANI): The Federal Aviation Minister of Pakistan Ghulam Sarwar Khan on September 07 denied President Ram Nath Kovind the use of Pakistani airspace for his flight to Iceland this month because of India's "continued aggression against and oppression of the Kashmiri people". While speaking to ANI, Defence Expert PK Sehgal said, "The denial of airspace for presidential aircraft is a bad gesture and apparently it has major diplomatic form of Pakistan. They could have earned several brownie points but they missed the opportunity." "India and Pakistan are not at war and they could have told the international audience that strain in relation not with sending they have been graceful but they completely missed the chance," Sehgal added.
