Agra (Uttar Pradesh), Sep 06 (ANI): Nineteen prisoners who had completed their respective sentences but were serving extra time because of their inability to pay penalties here at the district jail were freed on Thursday after Satymev Jayate Trust paid off Rs 5.40 lakh fine on their behalf. "The trust has paid a total of Rs 5.40 lakh penalty for the prisoners who were not able to do so. They have taken the pledge that they will not engage in crime again," said Mukesh Jain, trustee, Satyamev Jayate trust. Last month, 21 prisoners were released on Independence Day after a businessman paid penalties to the tune of Rs 1.73 lakh on their behalf.
Rohtak (Haryana), Sep 06 (ANI): District administration of Rohtak has bought around 4,000 earthen pots to store drinking water, ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled visit to the city. The step has been taken after PM Modi urged countrymen to stop using single use plastic and save environment. PM Modi will be visiting the city on September 08.
Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Sep 06 (ANI): Indore Special Task Force (STF) has arrested a man for smuggling the skin "Kind Leopard's", a rare leopard species, in the international market on September 05. The three accomplices of the accused person, Ghaffar, were caught by the forest department with the nails of the same species of King Leopard in November 2018, last year. Soon after that, the police carried out a search operation to find the then missing accused Ghaffar who is allegedly involved in tiger skin smuggling. "We have apprehended Gaffar with leopard skin which is worth crore of rupees. Ghaffar's companions, Shakir Maulana, Shiva Baba and Baldev were first caught by the forest department. Soon after that, we had started searching for Ghaffar. Forest department had even announced a cash price reward for finding Ghaffar. Maharashtra CBI was also in search of this gang, but they were caught in Indore" said one of the police officials. According to the police, 'King Leopard' is found
Raipur (Chhattisgarh), Sep 06 (ANI): Members of Bairagi family from Chhattisgarh's Raipur, distribute home-made, eco-friendly, re-usable bags, free of cost. The family intends to make the city single-use plastic free. Surendra Bairagi said, "My wife makes these bags using old clothes, we have distributed hundreds of these bags to people." Asserting on the hazard of single-use plastic on environment, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 15 urged people and shopkeepers to eliminate the use of plastic bags completely.

New Delhi, Sep 06 (ANI): While people looking to quit smoking might find e-cigarettes as a viable option, a new study has found it might not be so. Similar to traditional cigarette smokers, e-cigarette users reported worse sleep than individuals who did not use cigarettes. The findings of this study were published in the 'Journal of Sleep Research'. Researchers included a total of 1,664 college students, 41 per cent of whom reported ever trying or currently using e-cigarettes. The other 29 per cent reported ever trying or currently using traditional cigarettes. And the findings noted that across all groups, average sleep scores indicated poor sleep for most students. The users of e-cigarettes even reported greater use of sleep medications than traditional cigarette users. Study stated that even an irregular use of e-cigarettes was linked with deteriorating sleep.
New Delhi, Sep 06 (ANI): After launching in 19 other countries, Facebook Dating, the social networking giant's dating service, is now live in the US for users aged 18 and above. Facebook Dating profile will also allow users to integrate their Instagram posts directly into their profile along with the ability to add their Instagram followers into their Secret Crush lists, the official blog explains. The Dating profile works separately from the main Facebook profile and the activities of the Dating profile are not shared on the main profile. People are suggested based on preferences, interests, and other engagements on Facebook. Users can comment directly on a profile or tap on the Like button to let them know. By the end of this year, Facebook plans to add the ability to add Facebook and Instagram Stories to the Dating profile as well.
New Delhi, Sep 05 (ANI): South district Delhi Police has arrested five people including a domestic help for murdering his 91-year-old employer Krishan khosla in Greater Kailash-2. The prime accused Kishan who has admitted to the crime, said that he was frustrated with the constant nagging of his master Krishan Khosla. So, he conspired with his friends to kill his employer. After killing him, they stuffed his corpse in a refrigerator and transported it to different house in an auto-rickshaw. They fled the site after dumping his body in a pit in that house. A technology-driven comprehensive investigation helped police in nabbing the killer and his accomplices. Based on the information they arrested Kishan, they later arrested other four culprits. Kishan killed his employer in a macabre manner.
New Delhi, Sep 05 (ANI): Former union finance minister and Congress leader on Sep 05 was sent to judicial custody till Sep 19 by Rose Avenue Court in Delhi in connection with the INX Media case. The order followed Supreme Court's refusal to grant him pre-arrest bail in the case; however, a Delhi Court today granted him and his son Karti Chidambaram anticipatory bail in the Aircel-Maxis case, in which the father-son duo is facing probe by enforcement agencies. Chidambaram is in CBI custody for the past 15 days and was arrested on Sep 21 by the CBI from his Jor Bagh residence.
Gurdaspur (Punjab), Sep 05 (ANI): Gurdaspur's Member of Parliament (MP) for Lok Sabha and BJP leader, Sunny Deol, met people who were injured in the explosion that took place at a firecracker factory in Gurdaspur's Batala on September 04. In the incident, 23 people were killed and 20 got injured. While speaking to ANI, Deol said, "Whatever happened was not good. We pray this type of incident won't repeat anywhere. Erramatti Mangayamma gave birth to twin babies through In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF) technique and might have become the oldest mother in India to give birth to twin children at this age. While speaking to ANI, Director of Ahalya IVF Hospital, Dr. Umasankar, said, "She approached our hospital last year for getting a baby through IVF method. Egg from a donor and sperm from her husband, were used. She conceived the baby in January." "She has delivered twin girls today, both are healthy. Mother is in Intensive care unit (ICU)," the doctor added. Both the babies are healthy and weighing around 2 kg. Egg donors will breast feed two of them. Mangayamma hails from East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh. Her husband Rajarao is 80-years-old and a farmer by profession. They got married in 1962 but don't have any children till date.

The former finance minister is already in CBI custody in connection with INX media case. Chidambaram was arrested from his Jor Bagh residence in Delhi on August 21 after the Delhi High Court rejected his request for an anticipatory bail in two cases being investigated by ED and CBI.
