Whole planet to be benefitted by Chandrayaan-2: Former NASA astronaut

Mumbai, Sep 05 (ANI): Former National Aeronautics and Space Administration's (NASA) astronaut Jerry M Linenger expressed confidence on India's lunar mission Chandrayaan-2 after second de-orbiting manoeuvre of Vikram lander was completed successfully. The Vikram lander is inching towards historic achievement of soft landing. Linenger said that it's a fantastic bold mission and people have not gone before to South Pole of the moon, no matter what the outcome, it's still a success for the planet and not just for India.

3-storey building collapses in Gujarat's Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Sep 05 (ANI): A three-storey building collapsed in Amraiwadi area in Gujarat's Ahmedabad. No injuries have been reported so far. Rescue team is present on the spot. Further investigation is underway.

BJP's Odisha unit holds all-party 'Shradhanjali Sabha' for its 'blue-eyed' boy Jaitley

Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Sep 05 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Odisha unit held an all-party 'Shradhanjali Sabha' for one of party's blue-eyed boy late Arun Jaitley in Bhubaneswar on September 5. Dignitaries from all parties attended the ceremony. Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan, Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal and among other politicos remembered Jaitley. BJP stalwart and former finance minister took his last breath August 24 at AIIMS. He was 66. Lawyer by profession, Jaitley had been a key member of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Cabinet in the BJP government's first term. Due to health issues he refused to take any ministry in the BJP's second term.

Congress, NCP agree on seat sharing on 70 % of seats for Maharashtra elections; Ashok Chavan.

New Delhi, Sep 05 (ANI): Senior Congress leader and former Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan on Thursday said that Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) have agreed on 70 per cent seat sharing in upcoming Assembly Elections in Maharashtra with NCP. While speaking to ANI, he said, "We had good discussion with Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) regarding seat distribution for Assembly Elections in Maharashtra. We have agreed on 70 per cent of the seats, rest will also be taken care of."

India to give line of credit worth USdollar 1 billion for Far East's development: PM Modi in Russia

Vladivostok (Russia), Sep 05 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Plenary Session 5th Eastern Economic Forum said that India will give line of credit worth USdollar 1 billion for development of Far East. PM Modi at 5th Eastern Economic Forum said, "In India also we are building a New India on the 'mantra' of 'sabka saath sabka vikas'. We are aiming to be USdollar 5 trillion economy by 2024." He also added, "The development of Far East, India will give line of credit worth USdollar 1 Billion. My government has actively engaged East Asia as part of its 'Act East' policy. This will also give a new dimension to our economic diplomacy." Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Russia as the chief guest of the 5th Eastern Economic Forum.

20 students hospitalised after eating breakfast in Indore school

Indore, Sep 05 (ANI): Twenty students fell ill allegedly after consuming breakfast served by the administration of an Indore primary school on Sep 04. Parents have claimed that the children have fallen ill after eating 'Pav Bhaji' served for breakfast. They alleged that the dish was prepared by the school administration using contaminated water. All the 20 children were immediately rushed to hospital after they complained of stomach ache and vomiting.

Unemployed youth in J-K's Poonch get assistance in setting up businesses

Poonch (J-K), Sep 05 (ANI): The Jammu - Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) is assisting youth in providing self-employment opportunities to educated and unemployed youth in J-K's Poonch region.They are receiving training from JKEDI Poonch and are also helped by the organisation financially. JKEDI is working in the area from 2012. The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to JKEDI for changing their lives. JKEDI was established by the Government of Jammu and Kashmir in March 1997 to effectively enable entrepreneurship development in the state. The institute started its regular activities from February 2004.

Teacher's Day: President Kovind confers National Awards to teachers

New Delhi, Sep 05 (ANI): On the occasion of Teacher's Day, President Ram Nath Kovind presented National Awards to teachers in Delhi. Union Minister of Human Resource Development (HRD) Ramesh Pokhriyal and Minister of State (MoS) for Human Resource Development (HRD) Sanjay Dhotre was also present at the ceremony. Awards were presented to 46 exceptional teachers for their commitment to improve the quality of school education. The award is in its 61st year having been instituted in 1958. Teacher's Day in India is celebrated in the memory of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan whose birth anniversary falls on September 5. Dr Radhakrishnan was a renowned academic and served as the President of India from 1962 to 1967.

Batala firecracker factory blast: Families of victims protest against Punjab Govt

Gurdaspur (Punjab), Sep 05 (ANI): Families of the victims of Batala firecracker factory blast protested against the Punjab Government on September 5. Death toll in factory blast in Punjab's Gurdaspur rose to 23 while approximately 20 people were injured in the incident. PM Modi also expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives. He said, "The tragedy at a firecracker factory in Punjab is heart-wrenching. Deeply anguished due to it. My condolences to families of those who lost their lives. I hope the injured recover at the earliest. Agencies are working on rescue operations at the site of tragedy."

6- year-old dies after falling into open drain in Mumbai's Nalasopara

Police rescued many people from fire. The reason behind the fire break out is said to be short circuit. Japanese Embassy hosts 'Sake 2019' in Delhi

New Delhi, Sep 05 (ANI): Japan's Ambassador to India Kenji Hiramatsu on Wednesday hosted 'an evening with Japanese Sake 2019' to promote the symbolic beverage among the Indian public. The Embassy of Japan in India is working to raise awareness of Japanese food and sake (rice wine) in India. This is the third edition of the event, following the previous ones held in 2017 and 2018.After Hiramatsu's opening remarks and speeches by Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar of Udaipur and Miss Sake 2019, Sae Haruta, the sake-tasting session followed. A business meeting and a lecture on sake were also held which was attended by sake brewers and Indian buyers and importers. At this event, in addition to Japanese cuisine, a collaboration between Indian cuisine and Japanese sake was proposed. The Indian guests enjoyed tasting an assortment of sake, such as sparkling, ume-shu (plum sake), ko-chu (aged sake) and ginjo that was served along with a variety of cuisine.

Kids perform gymnastic moves wearing schoolbag, video goes viral

Kolkata (West Bengal), Sep 05 (ANI): A video of Jashika Khan, 11-year-old and Mohammad Azajuddin, 12-year-old from Kolkata went viral after they performed gymnastics while carrying their schoolbags on the streets. In the TikTok video which has been viewed over 5 lakh times on Twitter, the two kids could be seen performing somersaults and cartwheels with apparent ease. The video was applauded by five-time Olympic gold medalist gymnast Nadia Comaneci. While speaking to ANI, Jashika Khan said, "I felt great joy when I came to know about it, I told my parents too and they were very happy. I have been doing it for four years." Mohammad Azajuddin said, "I want to do something to make my dance teacher proud. If I get a chance to do gymnastics in future, I will take it but I will never stop dancing."
