Unique technology developed to make products using eggs in Ludhiana's Veterinary University

Ludhiana (Punjab), Sep 02 (ANI): Doctors and students of Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) in Ludhiana have developed a technology for making products using eggs. These products are claimed to be chemical free. The motive of making these products is to increase consumption of eggs in different ways. Speaking to ANI, Dr Manish Kumar said, "We've developed 16 value-added egg products, including pickle and juice."

Doctor allegedly beaten to death by tea garden workers in Assam's Jorhat

Jorhat (Assam), Sep 02 (ANI): A 73-year-old doctor was allegedly beaten to death by a tea garden worker's family and others after the worker died during treatment at a hospital in Teok Tea Garden. According to police, a magisterial enquiry has been ordered in this matter. Sarah was 96-year-old. She was a prominent figure among the Jews. Jewish Rabbi made special prayers and then buried Sarah in the Jewish cemetery at Mattanchery.

Smartphone app to detect your cheat days

New Delhi, Sep 02 (ANI): Researchers claim a first-of-its-kind Smartphone app called OnTrack can predict ahead of time when users are likely to lapse in their weight loss plan and help them stay on track. People on weight loss plans often experience lapses, which can prevent successful weight loss or even lead to weight regain, according to the study published in the journal, 'Translational Behavioural Medicine'. The study evaluated the effectiveness of the app among weight loss program participants, individuals attempting to follow a structured online weight management plan from WW (previously known as Weight Watchers) for eight weeks. OnTrack uses advanced statistical methods -- machine learning -- to learn over time a user's individual patterns of eating. Specifically, it learns patterns that are predictive of staying on one's weight loss plan and patterns that are predictive of lapsing from one's plan. Passing-out parade held in Leh by Ladakh Scouts Regiment for youth

Dhule chemical factory blast: Maharashtra govt announces compensation to kin of deceased, injured

Dhule (Maharashtra), Sep 01 (ANI): While speaking to mediaperons on explosion in a chemical factory in Dhule which took place on August 31, Maharashtra Minister Girish Mahajan said, "At least 13 people died, more than 50 were injured. The injured are hospitalised, 2 are being sent to Mumbai for operation. We have directed to form an inquiry commission. A detailed investigation is being done. Ex-gratia of Rs 5 Lakh each to next of the kin of the deceased has been announced, Rs 50,000 each will be given to the injured. The state government will bear the expenses of their medical treatment." Earlier, a massive fire and blast caused due to multiple gas cylinders exploding at a chemical factory in Maharashtra's Dhule district on August 31.

Bangaloreans make Ganesha idol using 9,000 coconuts

Bengaluru (Karnataka), Sep 01 (ANI): Ahead of the joyous festival of Ganesh Chaturthi, more than 9,000 coconuts were used to make eco-friendly Lord Ganesha idol in Bengaluru. Coconut Ganesha idol is installed in a temple near Puttenahalli area of Bengaluru. Eco-friendly Ganesha idol is installed every year in that temple by Sri Sathya Ganapathi Shirdi Sai Trust. Around 75 workers are working from last 20-25 days on making the idol of Lord Ganesha. While speaking to ANI, Corporator of Bommanahalli area in Bengaluru, Mohan Raj said, "All the fruits, vegetables and coconuts will be given back to the devotees as 'prasadam'. The ingredients used to make Ganesha idol will be utilised in different ways." "We have used 9,000 raw coconuts and 3,000 tender coconuts for the decoration of Lord Ganesha.
