Mohali (Punjab), Nov 1 (ANI): As the festival of Diwali is approaching, an NGO in Mohali, Gauri Shankar Sewa Dal started making idols and earthen lamps out of cow dung. Ramesh Sharma, its Director said, "We have 1000 cows each in our cowsheds in Chandigarh and Mohali. We decided to utilise the cow dung and used to make sticks and flower pots. We don't intend to sell these idols. People come to us and take them. If they want to pay we ask them to feed cows with the amount."
Agar Malwa (Madhya Pradesh), Nov 01 (ANI): Congress leader and former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh (MP), Kamla Nath who is in the middle of controversy for his speeches ahead of bypolls in the state, took a sharp jibe at BJP. "They'll (BJP) talk about buying you but they don't know that their leaders may be salable but MP's voters aren't...Not applicable to you but I say at other places, if they offer you money take it but take decision to safeguard future," said Kamal Nath. Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Nov 01 (ANI): With an aim to provide potatoes and onions to customers at rate less than market price, Uttar Pradesh Government started a mobile van in Lucknow on October 31. Initiative will also help farmers get appropriate price for their produce. The initiative is being carried out by State Horticultural Co-Operative Marketing Federation (HOFED). "We purchase directly from farmers and make it available to customers. Potato being sold at Rupees 38 per kilogram. A grade onion at Rupees 60 per kilogram and B grade onion at Rupees 45 per kilogram," said a horticulture official, RK Tomar.
New Delhi, Nov 01 (ANI): Research has shown that diets including beverages sweetened with sugar can have a negative impact on cardio-metabolic health.The results of the research were published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. Artificially sweetened drinks have been suggested as a healthier alternative, but their impact on cardiovascular health is not fully known. In this paper, researchers looked at data from the French NutriNet-Sante cohort to investigate the relationship between the risk of cardiovascular disease and consuming sugary drinks and artificially sweetened drinks.

Rubber is presently being sold at increased price of around Rs 160 per kg. Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh), Oct 31 (ANI): After the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) allowed to reopen the schools across the country in a graded manner amid COVID-19 pandemic, Andhra Pradesh Commissioner of School Education (CSE), V Chinaveerabhadrudu on October 31 informed that the schools for classes 9 to 12 will start from 2nd November in the state. He said, "Schools for classes 9 to 12 to start from Nov 02. Students will attend the classes on alternate days and each classroom will accommodate up to 16 students. Academic year 2020-21 is extended up to April 30, 2021."
New Delhi, Oct 31 (ANI): The Vice-Chairman of Delhi Jal Board Raghav Chadha visited Sonia Vihar water treatment plant on October 31. He inspected ongoing work to resolve water issue. The water supply was disrupted as Sonia Vihar and Bhagirathi water treatment plants, which receive Yamuna water, were temporarily shut due to high level of ammonia in it. According to the Delhi Jal Board, about 70% of water supply in the national capital has been resumed. Speaking on this Chadha said, "Ammonia level had risen in Yamuna River so we had to shut two water treatment plants. Level of the pollutant is reducing now and the two plants have resumed operation. There'll be no problem in supply of water."

The centre was inaugurated at Judicial Officers Training Institute in Maharashtra's Nagpur.
