India's first-ever seaplane service launched from Ahmedabad to Kevadia

Kevadia, Gujarat (ANI) October 31: India's first-ever seaplane services have been launched from Ahmedabad's Sabarmati riverfront to Statue of Unity in Kevadia on the 145th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. It aims to revolutionise the country's regional connectivity scheme. Water aerodromes at both these locations are being developed with aviation expertise of Airports Authority of India in cooperation with Gujarat Government. The project is funded by the Ministry of Civil Aviation under its RCS-UDAN scheme. There are plans to develop 12 such sea plane routes in the country with an aim to boost tourism and generate employment.

Bihar polls: COVID-19 measures taken in all booths, informs Magadh IG

High-priced onions become new normal for consumers in Mumbai

Mumbai, Oct 28 (ANI): Onion prices continued to surge in Mumbai's Byculla market. Continues rainfall in parts of India led to rise in onion prices. Onions are being sold at Rs 70-80 per kg. Traders used to sell 10 quintals in a day, now it has reduced to less than 3 quintals. A seller said, "Prices have doubled. We used to sell 10 quintals in a day, now it's reduced to less than 3 quintals. We've no idea why supply is less and how long this will prevail."

Bihar polls: First phase to see voting on 71 seats, officials leave for polling stations

Gaya (Bihar), Oct 28 (ANI): Citizens of Bihar are ready to choose their next state government as the assembly polls will kick start from October 28. The first phase will see 71 of the 243 seats go to polls. Polling parties in Gaya left for their respective polling stations after collecting EVMs (Electronic Voting Machines) and VVPATs (Voter Verified Paper Audit Trails) ahead of voting for the first phase of polling. Gaya's District Magistrate Abhishek Singh informed that more than 20,000 polling personnel and around 18,000 police officers have been deployed for smooth functioning of polling process. Bihar will vote in three phases of which first begins on October 28, and the next two phases of voting will take place on November 03 and November 08. Counting of votes will take place on November 11.

Ballabhgarh incident: 'There was pressure on her to change religion and marry,' says victim's father

Ballabhgarh (Haryana), Oct 27 (ANI): On October 26, a 21-year-old college girl was shot dead in broad daylight in Ballabhgarh. According to police, the incident happened when the woman went to write her college exam. Two accused have been arrested in the incident and are in the police custody. According to victim's father, "There was pressure on her to change her religion and marry." Earlier today, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar assured strict action against the culprits.

India's growth will be negative or near zero this year: FM Sitharaman

New Delhi, Oct 27 (ANI): Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman attended 4th Annual India Energy Forum by CERA Week on Oct 27. She said, "India's growth this year will be negative or near zero. Next year India can be one of the fastest growing economies. Festival season has commenced in India, as a result of which I expect the demand to go up and therefore, be sustainable also." She further said, "Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) inflow between April and August of 2020, grew by about 13% compared to non-COVID 2019's comparable period. Globally, we are one of the lowest in terms of Corporate Taxation. For any investment which comes into manufacturing and which commences production by 31st March 2023, they shall be paying only 15% Corporate Tax."
