New Delhi, Apr 10 (ANI): In a press conference held in Delhi on April 10, MEA's AS and Coordinator of COVID-19, Dammu Ravi said "We have evacuated 20,473 foreign nationals as of yesterday. This is an ongoing process. We are receiving excellent cooperation. This is all government effort." He further said, "A lot of requests on Hydroxychloroquine were already there. Several countries have made requests for this particular item and taking into view the domestic necessities and keeping a sufficient buffer for our own requirement, a decision was taken by a group of ministers to release some of the surplus medicine for export purposes. This is an ongoing process."
New Delhi, Apr 10 (ANI): The Health Ministry has confirmed no community transmission in the country yet. However, the Health Ministry has also requested people to remain aware and alert. "There are no community transmission in the country yet, no need to panic; but remain aware and alert," said Joint Secretary of Health Ministry on being asked about Indian Council of Medical research (ICMR) recent study that hinted community transmission. According to the study published in the Indian Journal of Medical Research (IJMR) of the Indian Council of Medical research (ICMR) the tests conducted on 5,911 Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI) patients, 104 (1.8 percent) tested positive for Covid-19. Of these, 40 did not have a history of travel outside India or contact with a known Covid-19 case or someone with international travel.
Chandigarh, Apr 10 (ANI): Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh said that experts have told that coronavirus will peak in mid September. In a video conference, Singh said, "The figures that I have been given by Indian scientists and medical practitioners are that 80-85 percent of India may get infected, if these figures are correct then they are horrendous figures. In Punjab, 27 cases are there with no travel history, yes it can be said that most of them are cases of community transmission. We have very senior and top class medical officers who have said they expect it will peak in mid September, at the point when 58 percent of population can be infected."
Chandigarh, Apr 10 (ANI): Amid coronavirus lockdown, Chief Minister of Punjab Captain Amarinder Singh said that the only good thing that has happened is that drugs supply line has broken. In a video conference with mediapersons, Singh said, "I can tell you one thing, the only good thing that has come out of COVID-19 is that drugs supply line has broken. We are happy, we have a task force working on it. I have been informed that the supply line of the drugs has been broken and the smuggling is no longer happening."
New Delhi, Apr 10 (ANI): The pandemic COVID-19 has led to decrease in blood donation; the Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan, while addressing a review meeting with state ministers of health on COVID-19 via video conferencing, urged people to donate blood. He said, "COVID-19 has led to decrease in blood donations, we have decided that to promote blood donation, wherever possible, we take blood from the donors at their home or by facilitating them from home and invite them to donate blood." Harsh Vardhan also requested health ministers of all states to ensure that lockdown is followed 100 percent in their respective states.
Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Apr 10(ANI): Doctors and healthcare professionals in the COVID-19 ward of Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital in Chennai have been staying inside the campus after completing their work, in order to prevent any possibility of spread of coronavirus to their family members. Kilpauk Medical College and Hospital, Dean Dr K. Vasanthamani says, "Doctors, nurses and other paramedical staff working in the main COVID-19 ward of college have been given the required protection gear like Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) andN95 masks. Still they are staying back in order to protect their families."
New Delhi, Apr 10 (ANI): Cricketer-turned-politician and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Gautam Gambhir donated 1000 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits to Lok Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital to fight against pandemic coronavirus. While talking to ANI, Gautam Gambhir said, "I donated 1000 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits for LNJP as per my promise to Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. I am ready to donate more PPE to other hospitals also; the doctors are real hero in this war against the pandemic." Cricketer made this donation via his foundation. He also welcomed Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's decisions of seizing the hotspots of COVID-19.
Chandigarh, Apr 10 (ANI): Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh confirmed 132 coronavirus cases in the state of which 11 have died so far. Amarinder Singh said, "Total 2,877 samples have been tested but the problem is that with a state of 28 million people, 2,877 tests are not much." He further informed that new kits and testing sources will be given to the state soon.
Jammu (J-K), Apr 10(ANI): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, GC Murmu said that around 1900 people have been identified in Jammu and Kashmir who present in Nizamuddin's Markaz. "We traced them through their phone numbers and they have cooperated with us. They are being tested and have been kept in isolation. The work is underway in a pro-active manner," said Lt Governor. Governor Murmu assured that J-K has 17,000 N95 masks, 13,000 Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) kits, and 200 ventilators. "We will soon have 80,000 rapid testing kits which will be used in red zones identified here, for early detection of COVID-19," he added.
Dehradun (Uttarakhand), Apr 10 (ANI): Speaking on the measures taken in Uttarakhand, Trivendra Rawat informed that around 10,000 Personal Protective Equipment kits, 30,000 masks and 257 ventilators are available. "We have around 10,000 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) kits, 30,000 masks and 257 ventilators. Many states are affected due to COVID-19, so I believe that lockdown should not be lifted but extended so that we end the spread of COVID-19," said Uttarakhand CM Trivendra Singh Rawat.
New Delhi, Apr 10 (ANI): AIIMS Centre for Community Medicine Head Dr Chandrakant Panav on April 10 informed that there is no evidence that dogs and cats are transmitting or are being affected by COVID-19. "All medical institutes in the world have stated that there is no evidence that dogs and cats are transmitting or are being affected by COVID-19. Through social media, many people are disseminating wrong information," said Dr Chandrakant Pandav.
Patna (Bihar), Apr 10 (ANI): Bihar DGP Gupteshwar Pandey informed that Siwan, Begusarai and Nawada districts have been completely sealed now after new cases reported from these areas. Ajmer (Rajasthan), Apr 10(ANI): Police on April 10 arrested 7 people after they allegedly misbehaved with a team of doctors who were conducting survey in Ramganj in Ajmer. Nursing staff went to Ramganj for conducting COVID-19 survey where few locals got into an argument with the team. Sunil Kumar Tewatia, Additional Superintendent of Police, Ramganj says, "These people misbehaved with the nursing staff. Case has been registered against 25 people."
Jammu, Apr 10 (ANI): A 'special train' from Delhi carrying masks, sanitizers and medicines arrived at Jammu railway station on April 10. Speaking on the special train, an Indian Railways official said, "The train unloaded essentials items at Panipat, Ambala, Ludhiana and Pathankot on its way to Jammu. It's a special train, carrying essentials".
Poonch (J and K), Apr 10(ANI): Poonch police distributed self manufactured masks and sanitisers to its workforce of the district amid coronavirus outbreak. Around 3,000 protective masks were made at welfare center of which 2,000 have been distributed among the police. Masks and sanitisers were distributed as police personnel as they are prone to threat of coronavirus while performing their duties. SSP Poonch Ramesh Angral says, "So far we have made 3000 masks - are distributing it to the police personnel here ".

The marriage took place at the groom's house in NTR colony, Gavarapalem area in Anakapalli town, at 11.20PM on April 9. Marriage of Mahesh and Sowjanya was scheduled for 'auspicious day' four months ago. But coronavirus and subsequent lockdown dented their plans of organising grand wedding. Though without guests; the marriage was performed smoothly. Bride and groom simply got married in presence of their parents and a priest.
Hapur (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 10 (ANI): Mukul Tyagi, an advocate, has built a makeshift tree house in his village Asaura, as a retreat, during coronavirus lockdown. He said, "Doctors have said social distancing is the only way to contain this pandemic that is why I made up my mind to live in seclusion. I'm enjoying it."
