Delhiites maintained complete 'social distancing' while buying their daily usage items. Nationwide lockdown has been imposed in backdrop of COVID-19 outbreak. There are total 669 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Delhi including 426 cases from Markaz. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 5095 in India and 166 deaths.

High-level meeting of GoM held on COVID-19 pandemic in Delhi

New Delhi, Apr 09 (ANI): A high-level meeting of the Group of Ministers (GoM) was being held in the national capital on April 09. It was held at the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on COVID-19 pandemic. Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr Harsh Vardhan, Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs (I/C) Hardeep Singh Puri and EAM S Jaishankar attended the meeting. Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat also attended the meeting on coronavirus outbreak in Delhi. There are total 669 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Delhi including 426 cases from Markaz. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 5095 in India and 166 deaths.

COVID-19: Ravi Shankar Prasad launches helpline number for assistance, healthcare and guidance

New Delhi, Apr 09 (ANI): Communication and Technology Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on April 9 launched an initiative between Govt of India and Tamil Nadu, with the name Aarogya Setu IVRS. "It will activate once you give a missed call and all options for assistance, healthcare and guidance will be available to you on it," Prasad added. Ravi Shankar Prasad said, "We are also going to launch Aarogya Setu Interactive Voice Response System in other states soon, today was a pilot." He said that while Aarogya Setu is for smart phones, IVRS version will be available even for non smart phones.

Master plan needed to check community transmission of COVID-19: CM Gehlot

Jaipur (Rajasthan), April 9 (ANI): In a video conference meeting with health and administrative officials, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has instructed them to work on a war footing to prevent the spread of corona infection in the Ramganj area of Jaipur. The situation in the region is critical and there is a need to implement an emergency plan to prevent community transmission of the virus. CM also underlined that large number of suspicious people would have to be isolated on the lines of Bhilwara in Jaipur. Testing facilities should be increased in Ramganj including door-to-door survey and PCR testing, so that on the spot, samples can be taken for random test. In the meeting, CM said that the number of infected persons in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Churu, Tonk, Jhunjhunu and other districts is increasing rapidly, for which there is a need to increase the speed of sample collection and testing immediately. Migrant workers flock to Rain Basera in Delhi to take shelter amid lockdown

New Delhi, Apr 09(ANI): Amidst nationwide lockdown and movement of migrant workers during coronavirus pandemic, stranded migrant workers have been accommodated at government shelter homes with basic amenities. Delhi Police Constable Tejpal informed that while patrolling when they came across migrants who were facing fooding and lodging problems, they are brought to the Rain Basera. "After bringing them here, we have entered their data in the Rain Basera as well as in the Police Station for record," he added. He further assured that police visits the Rain Baseras to ensure that migrants are not facing any problem and proper food is available to them.

Delhi confirms 669 COVID-19 positive cases, 426 linked to Tablighi Jamaat

New Delhi, Apr 09(ANI): Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain said till now, there are 669 COVID-19 positive cases in Delhi, which includes 426 cases from Markaz. On the increasing number of COVID-19 cases, he said that as tests are taking place the number is increasing, in hospitals around 70 per cent were tested positive. He further added that the reports of quarantine have also started coming and around 30-40 percent people have been tested positive. "Home delivery services will he provided in the areas which have been highlighted as hotspots," assured Jain.

NDMC sanitation workers wear personal protective gear as precautionary measure amid COVID-19

New Delhi, Apr 09 (ANI): Sanitation workers of North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) wore personal protective gear while collecting garbage in the national capital on April 09. They collected garbage from the houses in Paharganj area of Delhi. Sanitation workers wore protective gears for prevention from COVID-19 transmission. While speaking to ANI, one of the sanitation workers said, "We have been provided with full protective gear." Delhi Police creates awareness among people at 'Bengali Market' hotspot amid lockdown

New Delhi, Apr 09 (ANI): Delhi Police has made a public announcement in Bengali Market amid coronavirus lockdown. Bengali Market has been declared as 'containment zone' by the Delhi Government on April 08. Barricading has been done by Delhi Police keeping in mind the coronavirus lockdown. One of the cops said, 'Bengali Market area has been sealed. Strict legal action will be taken against violators. A list of phone numbers has been issued and you can order essential items on phone. It will be delivered at your doorstep.' Police personnel have been deployed in the areas to maintain law and order situation. All movements will be completely barred from the areas to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The Delhi government identified 20 hotspots on April 08 and sealed them completely.

Chirag Paswan appreciates steps taken by PM Modi to curtail spread of COVID-19 pandemic

New Delhi, Apr 09 (ANI): Lok Janshakti Party national president Chirag Paswan on meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi via video conferencing said that PM Modi is very serious regarding the spread of this pandemic as he took suggestions from each member present in the meeting and made personal notes. COVID-19: DIG rides cycle to check preparedness in MP's Chhatarpur

Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh), Apr 09 (ANI): Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) of Chhatarpur, Vivek Raj Singh carried out inspection in his area on April 08. New Delhi, Apr 09 (ANI): Mayurdhwaj Apartment in Delhi's IP Extension has been declared as 'containment zone' by the Delhi Government on April 08. Barricading has been done by Delhi Police outside the apartment keeping in mind coronavirus lockdown. On the other side, lane number 9 of Pandav Nagar was also declared as 'containment zone' yesterday. Delhi Police personnel have been deployed in the areas to maintain law and order situation. All movements will be completely barred from the areas to prevent the spread of coronavirus. The Delhi government identified 20 hotspots on April 08 and sealed them completely. Vardhaman Apartment in Mayur Vihar Phase I Extension has also been identified as a 'containment zone' by Delhi Government. There are total 606 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Delhi including nine deaths and 21 cured.
