COVID-19: People with good health don't require masks, says Harsh Vardhan

New Delhi, Mar 06 (ANI): Amid the tensed situation in the country due to coronavirus, Union Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan requested people to remain calm and informed that person with good health, do not require mask but the one suffering from cold or cough must wear it. "There is no need to create panic about the need to wear mask. People with good health do not require masks, however, people who are suffering from cold, cough must wear masks," said Harsh Vardhan. 31 positive Novel Coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the country. The deadly virus which originated from China's Wuhan has spread to over 64 countries across the world.

'Pink Toilet' installed at Noida metro route to celebrate Women's Day

Noida (UP), Mar 06 (ANI): In a move to celebrate Women's Day on March 08 this year, Noida Metro Rail Corporation Limited will start 'Pink Toilet' for women. The restrooms have been installed at Noida Sector 76 and Pari Chowk Metro stations. The special restrooms are equipped with all facilities including sanitary napkin vending machine. A designated room for breastfeeding and baby diaper changing has also been installed.

CM Kejriwal flags off 100 low-floor buses in Delhi

Delhi Violence: Rs 5 lakh compensation approved for completely burnt houses, says Manish Sisodia

New Delhi, Mar 06 (ANI): Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia informed that State Cabinet has approved Rs 5 lakh compensation for completely burnt houses and Rs 2.5 for partially burnt houses. "State Cabinet yesterday approved Rs 5 lakh compensation for completely burnt houses and Rs 2.5 lakh for houses that suffered substantial burns in Delhi violence. Government will launch 2-day verification drive for the release of compensation for the victims," said Manish Sisodia.

Equity indices plunge on weak global cues, Yes Bank crashes by 55%

New Delhi, Mar 06 (ANI): Equity benchmark indices closed nearly 2.5 per cent lower on Friday after the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) placed Yes Bank under a moratorium and took over its board. The spreading coronavirus (Covid-19) was another reason that weakened market sentiment as the death toll increased to nearly 3,300 globally with infected cases of more than 96,000. Reports said investors lost over Rs 3.7 lakh crore in intraday trading amid Yes Bank crisis and virus-led fears. The BSE SandP Sensex closed 894 points or 2.32 per cent to 37,577 while the Nifty 50 cracked by 289 points or 2.57 per cent at 10,980. All sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the red with Nifty PSU bank down by 5.25 per cent, private bank by 3.81 per cent, financial service by 2.89 per cent and metal by 4.35 per cent. Acute water crisis forces Balrampur villagers to share pond with animals

Watch: Verbal attacks in Lok Sabha day after suspension of 7 Congress MPs

New Delhi, Mar 06 (ANI): Speaking in the Lok Sabha, Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on Friday questioned the suspension of seven of party's MPs on March 05 by house speaker Om Birla. He said, "7 of our MPs were suspended for the entire Budget session, yesterday. We don't know on what basis was this done? This is not a minor thing. We only want a discussion on the issue of Delhi violence." In a reply to Congress MP Adhir Ranjan, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi said, "Such behavior should not be displayed in the House. Steps are taken in interest of depositors, bank and economy: FM Sitharaman on Yes Bank crisis

New Delhi, Mar 06 (ANI): Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman reacted over Yes Bank crisis, saying that the steps that are taken are in the interest of the depositors, the troubled lender and the economy. "I want to assure all the depositors that their money is safe, I am constantly in touch with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The steps that are taken are in the interest of the depositors, the bank and the economy. RBI has assured me that the matter will be resolved soon. Both RBI and Government of India are looking at this. I have personally monitored the situation for a couple of months along with RBI and we have taken the course that will be in everybody's interest," Sitharaman further said while talking to media.

SBI informed SEBI about its investment in Yes Bank: Chairman Rajnish Kumar

New Delhi, Mar 06 (ANI): State Bank of India (SBI) Chairman Rajnish Kumar reacted over the speculations that the state-run lender is going to take over the troubled Yes Bank. On being asked, if SBI will invest in the Yes Bank, Kumar replied, "We gave the information of in-principle approval of SBI's investment to the stock exchange yesterday (March 05)." "RBI Governor has very clearly said in their press statement that there is no need to panic. All depositors' funds are protected," the SBI Chairman further said. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) placed Yes Bank Ltd. under moratorium and restricted deposit withdrawals to Rs 50,000 on March 05. It is said that SBI and LIC are likely to take over the Bank.

Coronavirus outbreak: Locals perform 'vanaspati yagya' in Ghaziabad

No need to panic, funds of Yes Bank depositors to remain safe: CEA Subramanian

Mumbai / New Delhi, Mar 06 (ANI): After Reserve Bank of India placed Yes Bank under a month-long moratorium, Chief Economic Advisor of India, Krishnamurthy Subramanian, said that depositors' funds will remain safe, and they need not to panic. While speaking to media persons, Subramanian said, "A move is made to keep safe the deposits of all the depositors. Even Reserve Bank has made it clear that depositors' money will be safe. I want to assure all depositors that their funds will remain safe, and there is no need to panic. The moratorium is a standard process and it was necessary. Reserve Bank has taken the decision thoughtfully." Reserve Bank of India imposed a month-long moratorium on Yes Bank citing 'serious deterioration in its financial position' on March 05, and capped withdrawal limit at Rs 50,000.

Mumbai, Mar 06 (ANI): After Reserve Bank of India placed Yes Bank under a month-long moratorium, Governor Shaktikanta Das said that people can expect "swift action" by the central bank to revive the private lender. 4 of family dead after house roof collapses in Amritsar
