Major develops bulletproof helmet which can withstand AK-47 bullets

Lucknow (UP), Feb 09 (ANI): Indian Army Major Anoop Mishra developed bulletproof helmet that can withstand force of even AK-47 bullets. The helmet can give protection from AK-47 bullet fired from a range of 10 meters. He has also developed a full body bullet proof jacket for protection from sniper rifle bullets. Helmet has been named 'Abhedya-1'. Major Anoop Mishra also showcased the indigenous 'Parth' gunshot locator device jointly developed by an Army institute and a private firm, which was on display at the annual DefExpo event in Lucknow. 'Parth' can locate exact location of a bullet from a distance of 400m and will help to locate and neutralize terrorist faster. It costs around Rs 3 lakh and if inducted, would replace a similar imported item which costs around Rs 65 lakh.

26 cases of coronavirus confirmed in Hong Kong, 17 in Taiwan

New Delhi, Feb 09 (ANI): Local authorities informed that the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macao have confirmed 26 and 10 cases of the deadly coronavirus, respectively, while Taiwan has reported 17 cases. 2019-nCoV - a deadly virus that traces its origin in the local seafood market of Wuhan, capital of the Hubei province in central China has killed 811 people, surpassing the death toll from the SARS epidemic of 2002-3. Viral pneumonia caused by the highly contagious and life-threatening virus started in the middle of December and has spread to nearly 23 countries across the globe, including Hong Kong, Singapore, Thailand, Japan, India, and the United States. Meanwhile, 31 provinces in the mainland, including Xinjiang in northwest China have reported 2,656 new cases of viral infections, including 2,147 cases in Hubei province. Maghi Purnima: Thaipusam festival celebrated with full fervour in Rameswaram

Criminal carrying bounty of Rs 10,000 held in Lucknow

Maharashtra Police International Marathon flagged off in Mumbai

Mumbai, Feb 09 (ANI): The international marathon of Maharashtra Police was flagged off in Mumbai on February 09. Marathon was flagged off from Bandra-Worli Sea Link to Gateway of India. Bollywood actors Farhan Akhtar and Suniel Shetty were also present. Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh also marked his presence in the marathon. The 16-km marathon started from Toll Plaza, Rajiv Gandhi Sea Link which will reach at Gateway of India. The full marathon for the international elite was flagged off from Gateway of India at 05:00 am and full marathon for the Indian athletes was flagged off at 05:10 am. Around 6000 police staff and 17,000 other people participated in the marathon.

Google Chrome will block non-secure file downloads on HTTPS pages

New Delhi, Feb 09 (ANI): Google Chrome has announced that it will now ensure that secure pages only download secure files by blocking mixed content downloads or non-HTTPS downloads, which start on secure pages. The move is to ensure that only secure content is downloaded through secure pages because Chrome currently does not give any indication to the user if their privacy is at stake. Eventually, Chrome plans to remove support for insecure downloads, the official blog notes. Starting with Chrome 81, Chrome will begin gradually addressing the issue in the form of warnings and blocking of mixed content downloads. By October, when it releases Chrome 86, it will block all mixed content downloads. Mobile platforms will have a delayed rollout by one release.
