High fibre, yogurt diet reduces lung cancer risk: Study

New Delhi, Oct 26 (ANI):: Risk of lung cancer can be reduced by consuming a diet which is high in fibre and yogurt, says a study. The benefits of a diet high in fibre and yogurt have already been established for cardiovascular disease and gastrointestinal cancer. The new findings based on an analysis of data from studies involving 1.4 million adults in the United States, Europe, and Asia suggest this diet may also protect against lung cancer. Participants were divided into five groups, according to the amount of fibre and yogurt they consumed. Those with the highest yogurt and fibre consumption had a 33 per cent reduced lung cancer risk as compared to the group who did not consume yogurt and consumed the least amount of fibre. Shu said the health benefits may be rooted in their prebiotic (nondigestible food that promotes growth of beneficial microorganisms in the intestines) and probiotic properties. BSF, BGB exchange sweets ahead of Diwali

Agartala (Tripura), Oct 26 (ANI): Border Security Force (BSF), stationed along the India-Bangladesh border at Akhaura integrated check post distributed sweets among soldiers of Border Guards Bangladesh (BGB) as a goodwill gesture ahead of Diwali. The gesture was equally reciprocated by BGB officials and guards. The exchange of sweets between India and Bangladesh along the border is a traditional practice aimed at improving bilateral relations. Dushyant Chautala arrives at Home Minister Amit Shah's residence

New Delhi, Oct 25 (ANI): Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) chief Dushyant Chautala and Minister of State (MoS) for Finance and BJP leader Anurag Thakur arrived at Home Minister Amit Shah's residence. Before meeting Amit Shah, Dushyant Chautala said, "It is too early to say anything. Hopefully something positive will come out soon. Talks are going on with both the parties. Let us finalise." Haryana on Thursday (October 24) ended up with a hung assembly with the ruling BJP emerging as the largest party with 40 seats, but still six short of the halfway mark needed to form the next government. Stamp was released to commemorate the selfless contributions of the indomitable Indian Army soldiers, who participated in operation Meghdoot. 'Shooter Dadis' watch the first show of their movie 'Saand Ki Aankh'

Baghpat (UP), Oct 25 (ANI): Shooter Dadis, who inspired the movie 'Saand Ki Aankh' visited multiplex in Uttar Pradesh's Baraut to watch the first show of their movie. People were so excited to saw 'Shooter Dadis' that they havn't lost the chance to have selfies with them. The film is based on the life of Chandro Tomar and Prakashi Tomar, grandmothers from Baghpat. Popularly known as 'Shooter Dadi', Chandro Tomar also gave message to girls. She learnt the art of shooting at the age of 60 years and went on to become one of the best shooters of the country. VP Naidu meets Cuban Prez, Vietnamese counterpart in Azerbaijan

India's agreement to RCEP will be big jolt to our economy: Jairam Ramesh

New Delhi, Oct 25 (ANI): While addressing a press conference in Delhi on Friday, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's next month visit in Bangkok to sign Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) agreement, said, "After demonetisation and GST it will be the third big jolt to our economy when the Prime Minister will go to Bangkok the next month and express India's agreement to Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) - a pact among 16 countries." "RCEP will result in liberalisation in imports from China. We don't know what was discussed in Wuhan or Mahabalipuram but we can see the results, there'll be liberalisation in imports from China.
