Mumbai, Aug 21 (ANI): Bollywood singer Mika Singh said apologised to the country for performing in Pakistan. He said,"It wasn't that I was adamant on performing there, it was a coincidence that I went there and Article370 happened. If I made a mistake, I apologise to the federation and the nation".Earlier, the All India Cine Workers Association (AICWA) issued an official notice seeking a ban on singer Mika Singh after his performance in Pakistan amidst ongoing Indo-Pak tension.
Srinagar (JandK), Aug (ANI): Jammu and Kashmir's Information and Public Relations' director, Syed Sehrish Asgar said that all schools in Jammu are functioning normally. "In Valley, attendance in schools ranges from 2-3% in some areas in south and upto 50% in certain areas in north. Some private schools in Srinagar have started their primary classes, all schools in Jammu are functioning normally", said SS Asgar in press conference in Srinagar. She further added that hospitals and banks are functioning normally in all districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
New Delhi, Aug 21 (ANI): Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on August 21 said that Government is prioritizing on diverting Indian share of water flowing to Pakistan to benefit farmers, people and industries. Beyond the Indus Water Treaty a large part of India's share of water goes to Pakistan. "We're working on priority to work out how our share of water that flows to Pakistan can be diverted, for use by our farmers, industries and people," said Minister Shekhawat while talking to ANI.
Jammu (JandK), Aug 21 (ANI): Several Madrasas were reopened in Jammu after revocation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. Many students attended the classes. "Things will take some time but we are trying are best come back on track, teachers are trying there best to complete the syllabus" said the student. On August 05, the government passed a resolution in Upper house to remove provisions of Article 370, which provided special status to Jammu and Kashmir.

The pugilist feels that the move will help Centre in facilitating sportspersons in the state. "Any athlete from Jammu and Kashmir will get good facility from Centre now. Players will be benefited more and they will perform better for the country. I believe that Centre will provide good infrastructure to them now," said Mary Kom.
Pune (Maharashtra), Aug 21 (ANI): A woman created ruckus in Pune's Ramnagar Society on early morning of August 20. She hit 3 cars with her vehicle. Police is yet to confirm if the woman was intoxicated. Case is registered against the woman. ACP Pimpri-Chinchwad Ramnath Pokle said, "Today around 6 AM, a woman rammed her vehicle into 3 cars. Cars were damaged. She also misbehaved with locals and police. A case is being registered against her."
Hardoi (UP), Aug 21 (ANI): A police constable in Hardoi saved a man who had tried to commit suicide, by giving him Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).S Kumar, Constable said,"When we reached he had stopped breathing, we gave him CPR due to which he started breathing again. He was taken to a hospital later". Police received a distress call in which a wife stated that her husband locked himself in the room and hanged himself with the ceiling fan.

Srinagar (JandK), Aug 21 (ANI): DIG of Central Kashmir, VK Birdi informed that no major law and order incident was observed in Jammu and Kashmir on August 21. He said, "No major law and order incident observed today. All those areas where relaxation was extended, they also behaved normally. In some pockets, there were stray incidents of stone pelting."
Bhopal (MP), Aug 21 (ANI): Mortal remains of former Chief Minister and senior BJP leader, Babulal Gaur reached BJP party office in Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal. He passed away at the age of 89 on August 21. He was admitted to the hospital in a critical condition after his blood pressure dropped. Gaur served as the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh from August 2004 to November 2005. Madhya Pradesh Government has announced 3-day mourning following his demise.

Barmer (Rajasthan), Aug 21 (ANI): At least 3 Air Force personnel lost their lives after a defence truck rolled down a hill in Chauhtan town of Rajasthan's Barmer district on August 21. 3 other Air force personnel were seriously injured. They were taken to the hospital. Further investigation is underway.
Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), Aug 21 (ANI): Himachal Pradesh Agriculture Minister RL Markanda said that Lahaul-Spiti has received more than average rainfall in past 4-5 days. He said, "Lahaul-Spiti has received heavy rainfall in last few days. A lot of people were stuck in Spiti due to heavy rainfall. Nearly all tourists have been evacuated from Spiti." He further added, "Malayalam film crew that was stuck in Chhatru said about today that they will leave in morning." RL Markanda was also stuck in Kaza for 3 days due to heavy rainfall before being airlifted to Shimla on August 20.
Varanasi (UP), Aug 21 (ANI): As water level in Ganga increased, several parts of Varanasi were submerged under water. Locals were seen suffering due to floods. Houses near ghats have been damaged. Life has come to standstill in affected areas. "We are moving to safe areas as water has entered our house," said a local.
Uttarkashi (Uttarakhand), Aug 21 (ANI): Three people died who were on-board a helicopter that was carrying relief material to flood-affected areas, after it crashed in Uttarkashi on August 21. The helicopter was going from Mori to Moldi, in Uttarkashi district. While speaking to ANI, Uttarakhand CM, Trivendra Singh Rawat announced a compensation of Rs 15 lakh for person's next of kin of those who lost their lives in crash.

New Delhi, Aug 21 (ANI): The busts of Bhagat Singh, Subhas Chandra Bose and Veer Savarkar were installed outside Delhi University's Faculty of Arts. "There is a cellar on campus, where Bhagat Singh was kept during trial and it was not made public, so we have decided to erect the pillar as they have made great contributions in freedom struggle. Youth should take inspiration from them," said Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) president and ABVP leader Shakti Singh.
