4th International Day of Yoga: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan performs yoga in Berlin

Berlin (Germany), Jun 22 (ANI): Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan performed Yoga on the occasion of 4th International Day of Yoga at Berlin's public square, Alexanderplatz on Thursday. June 21 was celebrated as the International Day of Yoga worldwide and people of various backgrounds came together to perform yoga.

EAM Sushma Swaraj performs yoga in European Parliament's Yehudi Menuhin hall

Brussels (Belgium), Jun 21 (ANI): External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj performed yoga in European Parliament's Yehudi Menuhin hall on the 4th International Yoga Day. Shri Shri Ravi Shankar was also present at the event to perform yoga. The event is Co-hosted by Embassy of India, Brussels delegation for Relations with India, European Parliament Wellbeing Unit, EP. During the event, EAM Swaraj mentioned that yoga had a very special place in violinist maestro Yehudi Menuhin's life. She said, "EU has every year come together to have this joint session to acknowledge the efficacy of this ancient science of wellness. It is interesting to have chosen Yehudi Menuhin hall for this event. Yoga had a very special place in the violinist maestro's life.Today yoga classes are still offered to musicians in the Yehudi Menuhin school."

Italy's Matteo Salvini threatens writer Roberto Saviano to remove latter's police protection

New Delhi, Jun 21 (ANI): Italy's well-known writer Roberto Saviano has been threatened by Italy's minister Matteo Salvini to remove the former's police protection. Roberto Saviano has been under police protection for 10 years since his book published in 2006 exposed the activities of the Gomorra, a mafia organisation based in Naples. He is one of those journalists and writers who are under protection in Italy, due to constant threats to by mafia. Salvini has been Saviano's biggest critic and had earlier opined for a review of former's police protection.

Dharmendra Pradhan visits Bio-CNG plant in Germany's Stuttgart

Stuttgart (Germany), Jun 21 (ANI): Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas Dharmendra Pradhan visited a Bio-CNG plant in Germany's Stuttgart on Thursday. He was briefed by officials on how agricultural waste can be converted into energy. Dharmendra Pradhan is currently on a two-day visit to Germany, after attending the seventh Organisation of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) International Seminar at the Imperial Hofburg Palace in Vienna, Austria on Wednesday. Pradhan also pitched for "responsible pricing" which balances the interests of both producer and consumer.

Dhaka (Bangladesh), Jun 21 (ANI): Indian High Commission in Dhaka organised yoga camp on the occasion of 4th International Yoga Day on Thursday. The first International Day of Yoga was observed all over the world on June 21, 2015, where more than 30,000 people, including Prime Minister Modi, performed yoga asanas at Rajpath in New Delhi. The idea of International Day of Yoga was first proposed by Prime Minister Modi during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on September 27, 2014.
