Pakistan extends airspace ban: How is the ban affecting Indian airlines?

Pakistan has extended its airspace ban on Indian aircraft until September 24, just days before the previous restriction was due to expire on August 23. The ban covers Indian-registered aircraft, aircraft operated or leased by Indian airlines, and military flights across Pakistan’s Karachi and Lahore flight information regions. The restrictions were first imposed in April 2025, following the Pahalgam terror attack. India also maintains a reciprocal ban on Pakistani-registered aircraft, airlines and military flights.
