RIL plans a turnround of manufacturing site near Raigad

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) has scheduled a planned turnaround at its Nagothane (near Raigad, Maharashtra) manufacturing site. The cracker and some downstream units will be shut for four weeks, starting mid-January 2015. The unit comprises an ethane and propane gas cracker and five downstream plants for the manufacture of polymers, fibre intermediates and chemicals.

This is also done to carry out routine maintenance and implement other profit improvement and energy conservation measures. RIL's crackers and other downstream units at other locations will continue at normal levels of operations.

The company's statement said that with advance planning and inventory management, impact on external sales is likely to be minimal.
