Adoni, Nandyal municipal commissioners fined

Commissioner, Right to Information Act has imposed penalties on municipal commissioners of Adoni and Nandyal municipalities in Kurnool district for failing to provide information to an applicant under the RTI Act.

RTI Act Commissioner P Vijaya Babu during a hearing today imposed fine of Rs 5,000 and Rs 2,500 on Adoni and Nandyal municipal commissioners, respectively, according to a Public Relations department release.

RTI commissioner also imposed a penalty of Rs 5,000 on panchayat secretary of Ibrahimpatnam village in Krishna district for not providing information under the Act.
