Business conglomerate Godrej Industries Ltd on Tuesday reported an 81 per cent increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 322.49 crore for the April-June quarter of 2024, on higher income.
Its net profit stood at Rs 178.06 crore in the year-ago period.
Total income increased to Rs 5,259.41 crore in the April-June period of 2024-25 fiscal, from Rs 4,893.40 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year, according to a regulatory filing.

On business performance of its subsidiaries, joint ventures and associate companies, Godrej Industries said the consolidated sales of Godrej Consumer Products Ltd (GCPL) stood at Rs 3,311 crore in the first quarter of this fiscal.
Godrej Properties' total Income grew to Rs 1,638 crore in April-June period of this fiscal, from Rs 1,315 crore in the year-ago period.

Patel Engineering Ltd on Tuesday reported a 25.81 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit to Rs 48.17 crore in the April-June quarter of 2024.
It had posted a Rs 38.29 crore net profit from operations during the year-ago period, the company said in an exchange filing.
The company's revenue from operations declined by 1.52 per cent to Rs 1,101.66 crore in the June quarter.
It was at Rs 1,118.61 crore in the year-ago period.
Patel Engineering's Managing Director Kavita Shirvaikar said, "Our focus remains on delivering long-term value for our stakeholders while continuously enhancing operational efficiency and output."

A US-based subsidiary of drugmaker Cipla is recalling over 400 cartons of generic anti-cancer medication due to a manufacturing issue, according to the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA).
Warren (New Jersey)-based Cipla USA, Inc is recalling Nilotinib Capsules in two strengths (150 mg and 200 mg), the US health regulator said in its latest Enforcement Report.
The company is recalling the affected lot (271 and 164 cartons) due to "failed tablet/capsule specifications", it stated.
Cipla USA, Inc initiated the Class III voluntary recall on February 18 this year.
According to the USFDA, a Class III recall is initiated in a "situation in which use of, or exposure to, a violative product is not likely to cause adverse health consequences".
Nilotinib works by blocking the action of the abnormal protein that signals cancer cells to multiply. This helps to stop or slow the spread of cancer cells.

Bathroom and lighting solutions provider Jaquar Group is targeting to scale its lighting business revenue to Rs 1,700 crore in the next three years, according to a senior company official.
The company, which has a portfolio that includes LED, commercial, outdoor, architectural and facade lighting, besides consumer lighting such as bulbs and tube lights, plans to expand its outdoor and landscape portfolio, along with architectural indoor lighting.
"Over the next three years, we aim to scale the lighting business to Rs 1,600 crore to Rs 1,700 crore in revenue," Jaquar Group Director-Lighting, Ranbir Mehra told PTI.
He was responding to a query on the growth prospects of the lighting business of the Jaquar Group.
Jaquar Lighting contributes 8-10 per cent to Jaquar Group's overall revenue, said Mehra, who is a third generation of the promoter family of the group.

The company has received an order copy from the Office of the Commissioner of GST & Central Excise, Chennai South Commissionerate on March 6, confirming GST demand of Rs 154.80 crore levying penalty of Rs 15.48 crore and Interest u/s 50 of CGST Act, 2017 for the period July 2017 to March 2022, the insurer said in a regulatory filing.

Realty firm Omaxe Ltd has sold 173 luxury homes in its new project at Faridabad, Haryana for around Rs 800 crore amid strong demand.
The Delhi-based listed real estate company also sold 120 commercial units in Faridabad for Rs 160 crore.
In a statement on Saturday, Omaxe informed that the company has sold all residential and commercial units at its two newly-launched projects 'Omaxe Residences' and 'The Grand Europe' in the city.
The company recently launched and sold 173 residential units for about  Rs 800 crore. That apart, Omaxe launched and sold 120 SCO ( shop-cum-office) units for Rs 160 crore.
These two projects, slated to be delivered in 2030, are part of its integrated mixed-use township 'World Street by Omaxe'.

There is a need to relax criteria for India's PLI scheme for automobiles to enable electric vehicle start-ups to benefit and contribute to the country's green mobility journey, according to Euler Motors Founder & CEO Saurav Kumar.
The high ceiling for revenue and investments outlined in the PLI for the auto sector has meant that a company like Euler Motors, despite being among the top players in the electric small trucks and three-wheeler cargo segment, has not been able to participate in the scheme, Kumar told PTI in an interview.
As per the eligibility criteria of the auto PLI scheme, an OEM must have a minimum global group revenue of Rs 10,000 crore and invest in fixed assets worth Rs 3,000 crore.
