Cockroach Janta Party founder Abhijeet Dipke, along with supporters, continued the sit-in protest at Jantar Mantar overnight, demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak controversy, and urged people to join the demonstration on Sunday. The protest entered its second day as Dipke appealed to people to reach Jantar Mantar, while asking NEET re-exam aspirants to join the agitation after completing their test. "We are holding the fort but without your support this movement won't be successful," Dipke said as he urged people to join the protest on Sunday. The demonstration has continued even after Delhi Police said the permission granted for the gathering ended at 5 pm on Saturday and asked the protesters to vacate the site. Dipke asked police to assign a different site for the protest, but until then, they would continue their sit-in at Jantar Mantar. In a series of posts on X, Dipke appealed to police not to stop people from coming to

Responding to the issue of allotment of a centre in Abu Dhabi to a candidate from Nagpur, the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday said the city change request was made through the candidate's own registered login during the open correction window and it had later acted on his request to change the centre. Following the rescheduling of NEET (UG) 2026 to June 21, the examination-city correction window was reopened to assist candidates, the agency said. "Around 3.2 lakh candidates used the correction window, and NTA allotted the preferred examination city to over 99.5 per cent of them," it said in a post on X. On the "Abu Dhabi" query, the NTA said its web-activity records indicate that the city change in the case was made through the candidate's own registered login during the open correction window, with a consistent single-user access pattern. The agency said that despite the Abu Dhabi centre being chosen by the candidate, it received an informal request on the evening of Jun
Authorities have finalised elaborate security and administrative arrangements at 92 centres across Kota for the NEET UG re-examination to be held on June 21, officials said on Saturday. A total of 32,715 candidates have been issued admit cards for the examination, scheduled from 2 to 5.15 pm, a press release from the Kota public relations office said. The number of candidates in Kota has declined from 38,614 in the exam previously held on May 3. Experts attributed the drop partly to students opting for examination centres closer to their hometowns this time. The re-examination is taking place nearly seven weeks after the original test was cancelled following allegations of a paper leak that triggered nationwide outrage, political sparring and legal challenges. A coordination workshop was held here at the auditorium on Friday to review preparations for the national-level medical entrance examination. Divisional Commissioner Anil Kumar Agarwal, Kota Range Inspector General Harendra

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Saturday lashed out at the Modi government after a NEET-UG aspirant from Nagpur was allotted a centre in Abu Dhabi for the re-exam, saying it should "stop gambling" with children's future. The family of the Nagpur NEET aspirant claimed that he was allocated a school in Abu Dhabi as his exam centre for the June 21 retest. The National Testing Agency (NTA) said the grievance is being addressed and the candidate will be allocated a centre in Nagpur, after due verification, in the next few hours. In a post in Hindi on X, Gandhi said, "A student from Nagpur had been preparing for the NEET re-exam for a month. He downloaded his admit card just a day before the exam. His assigned centre was in Abu Dhabi. He has no passport, his family lacks the funds to send him abroad, and there is no time left. He wept all night and is refusing to take the exam -- can one even imagine the level of stress involved?" "How did this even happen? No student should have to face
