Two scooters parked in the congested Mishri Bazar near a mosque here exploded seconds apart on Wednesday evening, injuring half a dozen people and damaging nearby shops, police said. The blasts occurred around 7:30 pm in the crowded Moolganj area. The sound of the explosions, which took place near the Markaz mosque, was heard up to 500 metres from the spot. Police Commissioner of Kanpur Raghubir Lal told PTI that six people were injured in the blasts that took place in two scooters parked in Mishri Bazar. The injured were rushed to hospital. Two of them were discharged after first aid and two are undergoing treatment for burn injuries, he said. Lal said the incident is being investigated from all possible angles. "Since Diwali is approaching, we are exploring the possibility of a firecracker-related explosion as well," he said, adding that a terror angle is also not being ruled out. Electric vehicle maker Kinetic Green on Friday said it plans to expand its business with the launch of three e-scooters over the next 18 months. The first of the three new products is expected to be launched around the festive season this year, the Pune-based firm said in a statement. Kinetic Green has partnered with Italy's Torino Design to co-create a new range of ultra-futuristic scooters, it added. "Having sold over 80,000 E2Ws in this initial phase, created a strong manufacturing infrastructure and a network of 400 exclusive dealers for E2W in the country, we are ready to aggressively expand our E2W business," Kinetic Green Founder and CEO Sulajja Firodia Motwani said. Electric vehicle maker Wardwizard Innovations & Mobility on Friday said it has slashed prices of its product range up to Rs 13,000. The company, which sells electric two-wheelers under the Joy brand, has taken the step to accelerate EV adoption across the country, it said in a statement. The company has slashed prices by up to Rs 13,000 on selected models to strengthen its market presence and attract a broader base of EV consumers, the Gujarat-based firm said. The revised pricing applies to models including Wolf 31AH, Nanu plays, and Wolf Eco, among others.
