Arvind Mills to market Polo in India

| The United States Polo Association, a non-profit organisation, has signed a licensing agreement with the Ahmedabad-based textile manufacturer and retailer, Arvind Mills, to distribute its clothing brand, US Polo, in India. Arvind will also develop the brand's flagship stores in India. |
| "International expansion is a key strategy for the US Polo Association and Arvind Brands, a division of Arvind Mills, currently manages a number of international brands. Arvind Brands will introduce and develop our brand in India by establishing our retail stores throughout the country," David Cummings, CEO of US Polo Association Brand, said in a statement. |
| "Arvind Brands is excited and eager to be working with the US Polo Association "" the official governing body for the sport of polo in the US since 1890," Sanjay Lalbhai, chairman and managing director, Arvind Mills, said, adding, "We look forward to offering a line of classic American styling that captures the true spirit of the sport of polo. India has been associated with polo for centuries and the Calcutta Polo Club is the oldest active polo club in the world, founded in 1868." |
| With presence in every major city of the world, US Polo Association has a turnover in excess of $1 billion across all categories. The US Polo Association retails men's, women's, and children's sportswear, dresses and accessories such as socks, neckwear, hats and bags and small leather goods. |
| Before this, Arvind has also brought clothing brands such as Nautica, Tommy Hilfiger and Diesel to India. |
