Bosch, Siemens to set up Rs 479-cr unit in TN

Europe's largest home appliances maker BSH Bosch along with Siemens Group is looking at investing Rs 479.27 crore for setting up a manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu.
The German company, through its subsidiary BSH Household Appliances Manufacturing, plans to manufacture home appliances at the unit.
According to an official release, the company has requested the state government to allot 42 acres at Sipcot Industrial Park in Pillaipakkam for setting up the facility at an investment of Rs 479.27 crore to make air-conditioners, refrigerators and washing machines.
Acceding to its request, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa at a function here today presented the Letter of Allotment of land to the company's Zonal Manager VK Viswanathahan.
With the setting up of the facility, the company would provide employment to 2,000 people, the release added.
